And Whaaaaaat? Nothing in the review about the goofy Easter Eggs accessed from the main menu? Hell, ZORK deserves a mention as does that fun top-down Zombies arcade game. They're not THAT hard to unlock, y'know...

Ah well... guess I'll go play Fugitive Hunter again if i want a FPS where the dev team could care less who got offended (and that includes folks who wanted an actual good game, har har)...

If the PSP2 has a touchscreen, it's a lousy, useless Idea for what SHOULD be a dedicated games platform. If it's just for menus and such, fine. Still, if I wanted an iPod Touch, I'd get one. Actually, i HAVE one and barely use it. Just two analog sticks, please.

That, and a UMB slot is a MUST. Either that or some sort of peripheral or free service for core users from the beginning to shift large UMD libraries to memory sticks via PC. I have about 110 games (down from about 150) here and I'm not even interested in a new handheld that can't play them. The entire back catalog isn't and most likely will never be made available as downloadable, so it's really up to Sony to exercise some common sense and not force PSP 1000-3000 series users to buy something they have no interest in just because Sony thinks EVERYONE will want it.

If Sony thinks they're going to suddenly put out a new platform and forget about UMD games, expect to be reading some EDGE article with a headline like:

Sony "Shocked" By "Lower Than Expected" PSP2 Sales

Who cares if they have some well-paid faux exec spokesman meme telling us how amazing the damn thing is. If they screw their user base with a digital-only games platform (that's not a damn cellphone - and there better NOT be a PSP phone any time soon), they'll just waste yet another too many hundreds of miilons of dollars trying to figure out yet another needless redesign

Does Sony even ASK its consumers what they actually WANT, or are they simply looking at what else is selling and saying "Hey, we can do that, too!" while hoping folks will lap it up based on brand loyalty alone?

PSP Go is doing poorly because of the price point (it should have been $99 core and up to $150 with 2-3 games and perhaps a movie loaded in), NO slot for UMD games and the fact that Sony keeps releasing too many "limited" edition PSP bundles as if there's enough folks to collect them all.

Feh... We'll see what happens, but I HOPE they're listening to some of us stubborn UMD-heads out there...
