Microsoft has pushed back the release of Epic Games' third installment of Gears of War until Fall 2011. The Xbpox 360 game was originally given an April 5 release date by Epic Games’ design director Cliff Bleszinski. This new launch date will give some breathing room between Epic’s other big shooter, Bulletstorm, which is currently still on track for a February 22, 2011 release from Electronic Arts for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. TOKYO – When it comes to booth babes, no show features more sexy gaming girls than the Tokyo Game Show. Over 138 companies and organizations set up over 1,410 booth partition units at the annual September convention, paving the way for many booth babes. Microsoft had over 60 booth babes at its booth. The Christmas shopping season has officially kicked off for 2010. Microsoft announced that early sales of Bungie’s Halo: Reach have generated $200 million in the first 24 hours of sale.The amount broke the previous record of Halo 3, which held $170 million in sales in the 24 hours in 2007.

Tor Books, an imprint of Tom Doherty Associates, LLC—the largest publisher of science fiction in the world is excited to announce that Karen Traviss, who has penned number one bestselling novels in the Star Wars universe, as well as bestselling novels for the Gears of War franchise, will be writing the successor novel to Halo: Ghosts of Onyx in the first part of a multi-book deal to explore the Halo Universe in the wake of the final events of Halo 3. Halo novels published by Tor have sold over a million combined copies to date, and in 2010 Tor will also publish the first in a new Halo trilogy by science fiction icon Greg Bear. The highly-anticipated Xbox 360 video game “Halo: Reach” is scheduled to release September 14. 

Microsoft is going mainstream with Kinect, targeting retail giant Macy’s to help attract teens and parents to its new hardware. Macy’s announced aggressive new back-to-school efforts that will position the retailer as a shopping destination for tweens, teens and college coeds readying for the new school year. The new initiatives include the launch of “Material Girl” by Madonna and her daughter Lola, exclusive “Glee”- branded product, a new mstylelab sitelet for teens, and a partnership with Microsoft for an exclusive preview of Kinect for Xbox 360.

While Microsoft has been mum and has let Sony steal the spotlight when it comes to stereoscopic 3D gaming, a press release out of Korea states that Microsoft has entered into a partnership with 3D TV maker LG to market LG 55/47LX9500 LED 3D TVs alongside stereo Xbox 360 games in South Korea with the option of further expanding this marketing initiative throughout the Asia Pacific region. The program will launch this June and bundle Xbox 360 3D games with LG 3D TVs.
