With the NFL season about to kick-off with the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings, Electronic Arts’s Madden NFL 11 is delivering has been keeping football fans happy all month long in August. According to EA Sports, Madden has had a strong performance in August in both retail sales and direct-to-consumer digital revenue. Based on internal estimates, Madden NFL 11 was the #1 selling game in North America in August – sales are projected to be up approximately 5% year-over-year across all platforms for the month.

With the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings set to kick-off the 2011 NFL Season, EA Sports has used Madden NFL 11 to get an early look. After getting a taste of the NFL Playoffs during the 2009 season, the Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay Packers are expected to build on last year’s performance by securing their conference’s best record in 2010 according to the official Madden NFL 11 regular season simulation. 300 American colleges, universities, art and trade schools will offer degrees in videogame design, development, programming and art during the 2010-11 academic year, according to new research from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
