New casual game company acquires the license for the comedy group’s work.
UK-based social and casual game developer Zattikka has announced that it will release a Monty Python game on Facebook.
Tim Chaney, founder and CEO of Zattikka, says: “Monty Python is one of the most iconic comedy licenses around, but there has been no new material for over 20 years. By acquiring these rights we will be transporting Monty Python into the 21st Century, with a totally new experience for their unique comedy that will delight old and new fans alike. Forget Web 2.0, this is Python two point one and three quarters”.
The company says that the team behind the television and film productions have been involved in the production of the game and is described as “a homage to all the characters, settings, sketc hes and comedic approach that has made Monty Python a worldwide phenomenon.”
A mobile game based on another UK television series, Mr Bean: Out Of Control, was released by Zattikka for iPhone/iPad last week.
Zattikka’s website currently hosts a coming soon page with reference to “The Ministry Of Silly Games”.
