Publisher set to offer first taste of big-budget MMORPG to users in December. 

US-based publisher and developer Trion Worlds has announced that Rift: Planes Of Telara will enter a closed beta from December 3-6.

Rift is an MMORPG in the World Of Warcraft mould, the upcoming beta event will give users access to the first 20 levels of play, and the full opening area of the game.

Rift is one of three projects in development at the company. The others are End Of Nations, an online realtime strategy game, and an untitled project developed in partnership with the SyFy television company.

The closed beta will be offered to select users who have signed up for an account at the Rift website, or by receiving one a limited number of VIP beta-keys that will be distributed through the game’s Facebook, Twitter and community forums.
