The Night Bookmobile

Richard Pachter

Richard Pachter has written about the medium for a long time. First as a letterhack, then in the venerable CAPA-alpha, fandom’s first amateur press association, and later for the Comics Buyers Guide, Amazing Heroes, Comics Interview, and other publications. He has interviewed Wayne Boring, Mike Zeck, Art Spiegelman, Neil Gaiman, Howard Chaykin, Mark Verheiden, and other notable creators, has gotten to know quite a few writers, artists, and editors as friends, and has made a few appearances as a character in The Atom, Captain America, and a couple of Fred Hembeck strips, too.

In the real world, he’s been a marketing executive, copywriter, producer, music promotion man, and journalist, among other things. His current weekly business books column for The Miami Herald is syndicated throughout the country. He also reviews graphic novels for the paper and contributes other features as time permits. He writes and produces music and book reviews for Miami’s NPR radio station and blogs on several of his own websites and on a sports blog (under a pseudonym).
