Left early when he was on at The Stand in Glasgow. Fucking shite.

unimpressed, September 2010

Saw Simon Bligh last night in Leicester. The crowd were loud, boorish and drunk which is just as well because Simon had very little material, most felt as though it had been round the circuit for many many years and he seemed to think that swearing and shouting was funny. Crude, loud and puerile "comedy" for people who consider Johnny Vegas highbrow. If you like comedy more than down jugs of sangria then avoid.

Simon, March 2010

Confident stage presence can't make up for a lack of interesting material. A few obvious points stretched over 20 long minutes.

Steve Hillier, June 2009

Very funny and a brilliant performer. He is very much a 'working class' comedian, in that his material is all about 'real life' rather than auratic cultural memes, but unlike most such traditional comedians he is fun to experience. Would not go down well with students or other young, middle class types but it's horses for courses and Simon is great at what he does.

John F Keane, August 2008

Simon Bligh certainly has a manic stage presence - he does not handle microphone at all during his act, preferring to let his waving hands and manic eyes do all the work for him. This is very good but his material could do with some sprucing up - he should not waste the tremendous presence he has on doing the same stuff, however good it is, over and over again.

Alain English, March 2007

Saw him on a cruise ship at a midnight show. He didn't get a laugh at all. But it was very entertaining watching him die on his arse. He just got more and more manic trying harder and harder. True he was playing to an olderr audience than he usually plays to but you still have to have punchlines to your jokes. If you are genuinely funny you should be able to make anyone laugh.

NWT, October 2006

Saw him for the 1st time at the Stand in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago - sounds like he's still doing the same old stuff. He was supposedly 'headlining' but barely got more than a couple of real laughs. Came across as crude and rather creepy. Also drenched most of the front two rows in spit. Not recommended.

Andy, August 2006

Horrible, horrible stuff. Pathetic, peurile, pointless and unpleasant. The people in front of us walked out it was so terrible

Nik, August 2006
