Creator/Publisher: Mindy Timpone...I think...the website doesn't make it quite clear.

Type: Web comic

URL: http://doomnstuff.com/whitenoise.htm for the comic. http://doomnstuff.com/ for more about the creators. Pretty good, but unfinished websites.

Story: A story about a post invasion world, where paranoia and suspicion still reign and society is fragmented and dangerous. This comic follows 2 main characters, Lohaun and Wren. They are running from something that wants to kill them into a world where they face suspicion, not least because Wren is mutant.

Writing: The writing starts out a little melodramatic at the early stages of the comic and you have a impression that some phrases used are used more because they sound dramatic than to further the story, however, it quickly settles down into a more believable level.

Although momentarily the writing and especially the dialogue can be a touch shaky, for the most part it is very well thought out, written and conceived.

All in all its shaping up to be pretty gripping so far and promises to be a good read it it continues in this way.

Artwork: This comic consists of beautiful full colour westernised manga stylee type artwork. It’s well coloured and rendered and looks accessible. Early on there are one or two moments where the action is ambiguous, however, as the series goes on the artwork develops in confidence, style and clarity.

Pricing and Availability: White Noise is free to all that have an Internet connection. Just go to http://doomnstuff.com/whitenoise.htm to check it out.

Appeal: Although the comic has strong manga influences at its heart it appears to me to be a westernised comic, therefore, is a balance of both, stylistically speaking. The comic combines various elements and obviously has quite a wide range of influences. Because of this I think the comic should have pretty wide appeal amongst sci-fi fans that like their future shocks a little darker than usual.

Summing up: An interesting and developing webcomic. Although it is still not matured stylistically yet, it is very promising indeed and you would not lose anything to check it out.
