Miki Falls v3
Reviewed by Dan Polley

The romance starts to heat up in Miki Falls: Autumn, by Mark Crilley. Miki and Hiro, a Deliverer, find their relationship taking turns they never could have foreseen. The question is, will they be able to survive them?

Hiro and Miki decide that the best course of action it to continue their relationship on a hush-hush basis. They meet at odd hours of the day — and night — and they meet in places that are innocuous, where they feel they won’t be found.

But when Reika storms in one day during the middle of one of their meetings and once again threatens to put the kibosh on the relationship, how will Hiro respond? Reika tests Hiro and says he has to do what’s right. “I’ve got to do what’s right. Not just what feels right, but what I know deep inside to be right,” Hiro says.

Hiro and Miki’s decision is one that they cannot go back on. It’s been made, and they’ll live with their decision, whether they like it or not. Forces oppose their decision and those forces will mount a campaign to bring them to justice.

The plot really evolves in this one and the depth of the lowest lows are just as poignant as the warmth of the highest highs.

Once again, Miki Falls proves itself to be a fun, engaging story that intertwines several human emotions with no-frills, lovelorn art into a perfect weave of storytelling. Each volume has gotten a bit better than the previous one, so the conclusion, Winter, will hopefully be the best.
