Dragon Knights v1
Reviewed by Quita Paul

What happens when you get an elf prince, a Yokai demon-warrior and human? Behold, the knights of justice are here. They came to set up an epic quest; full of love and sometimes a bellowing lack of friendship. Lord Lyrouleon, their fellow dragon lord wants to recover the head of his enemy, Nadil, to prevent the demon king from being resurrected once again. But with a man-eating witch, a pair of twin psychics, and an army of werewolves what are the Dragon Knights going to do now? Everyone wants a piece of them - even the weak princesses are demons in the first place…

Dragon Knights Vol One seemed like Sailor Moon morphed into guys. Or, you may think of them like the Backstreet Boys, each knight has their own personality and goal. What really brought me in though were the drawings. They were really well done, and most of the storyline kept me in wanting more. If you like Slayers or Record of Loddoss War then you’ll really admire this series. What truly amazed me was what Mineko did with the story and the drawings. Another manga that I can relate to this would be Fushigi Yuugi, except one thing that brings this one down is the clothing the characters wear - they seem to wearing the same clothes all the time, even when they are going to a dance!

This series is recommended for young teens (ages 13 and up). So, for all those young “manganites” who have close-minded parents they can read this one. One you start reading, you don’t want to stop. Like in most manga series, Mineko Ohkami included some extra background about herself in story form. So, if you like fantasy and dragons, then this is right up your alley.
