Angle and Reid both have $4 million for the final stretch

By Holly Bailey

Not only are Harry Reid and Sharron Angle tied in Nevada polls, the two candidates enter the final stretch of the 2010 campaign with the same amount of cash in the bank.

According to finance reports filed Friday, Reid and Angle each had roughly $4 million in the bank as of Oct. 1. As The Upshot reported Tuesday, Angle raised a record-breaking $14.3 million in the last three months, but her campaign revealed Friday that she spent nearly $12 million on ads and fundraising. (She began the reporting period with $2 million in the bank.)

Reid began July with nearly $9 million in the bank and, as reported by the Las Vegas Sun's Jon Ralston, Reid raised just $2.8 million in the last three months. But Reid spent more than $7 million on ads, ending the month on equal financial footing with Angle.

Of course, this is only a small portion of the money that will be spent on the race in coming days. Conservative groups, including American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, say they plan to spend millions more on ads aimed at defeating Reid. Meanwhile, Senate Democrats plan to spend at least $2.5 million on ads backing Reid—a total that could go higher, given Reid's dismal performance in Thursday night's Senate debate.

As I have said I am a Republican, but in no way would I vote for Sharron Angles. She has never really explained her privitize system to the people of Nevadaand I don't think she even understands whhat it means. She is just endorsing what the Tea Party has her saying without even think things thru. Yes Washington needs a change ,but not to her extreme way of thinking. She would ruin what so many Americans have worked for and fought for for so many decades. Are we just going to lie down and accept what she is saying and wants to do. Hell no,Veterans especially need to wake up and come forward in this election get people like angle out of our politics and people that know what they are doing and that want to help the people and not destriy the Way Americans are today.

Also she classified Social Security as Welfare, Us Americans have worked all our live putting into S.S. and now she wants to take it away. Not only is she crazy to think of it as Welfare but to want to take it away. Just because her husband worked so many years for the BLM and now is retired from BLM and receives all of their benefits, including medical. We as Nevadans need to get the BLM out of Nevada and if she wants to close something than what other than the BLM,They are sure not an needed in our government anyways all they do is destroy our wild horses against what we as Nevadan wish.So we very much don't want it in Nevada.

Previous documents the nonprofit watchdog group obtained show that Pelosi's travel "cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over a two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol," the Examiner quoted Judicial Watch as reporting.
    reid's gonna love hearing that.

An interesting wrinkle in this race is that the dean of Nevada's Republicans in the state legislature, Bill Raggio, has endorsed Harry Reid. He joins a growing list of Nevada Republicans to do so. When one of the most conservative Republicans in state government makes such a decision, there is something to ponder. I do not buy arguments that he is a RINO, or that he sold out. This man personifies ethical behavior. Even when I disagree with him, I still respect him.

I am a lifelong conservative Republican, and in 35 years of voting I have never voted for a Democrat. I don't know if I could bring myself to do so now. I may vote for none of the above, or for a minor party candidate instead. For a fact I will not vote for Sharon Angle. I cannot support someone so extreme she urges those who disagree with the outcome of elections to "exercise their Second Amendment rights". I saw that video. To me that makes her a kook.
