Pop culture may be all about 'Glee,' but the Fox show is all about Britney Spears, despite the pop star's years of ups and downs. With a 'Glee' episode devoted entirely to BritBrit, the songstress has cemented her comeback. Fox released the above teaser pic of Heather Morris as 'Toxic' Britney in the episode entitled 'Britney/Brittney.' The photo emerged around the same time Spears released her own pictures from the show on Twitter. For Britney's pics click through ... BY JOANNA SLOAME Follow our galleries on Twitter @NYDNPhotos .
Heather Morris is the spitting image of Britney Spears in her 'Toxic' music video. Both stars sport a transparent bodysuit bedazzled with diamonds. According to the actress, she dreams she is the songstress while under anesthetic in the dentist's office.
Oops! She did it again! Here Heather Morris wears the same red patent leather jumpsuit that launched a thousand male teen dreams in Britney Spears' music video for 'Oops!...I Did It Again.' But Britney's career hasn't always been so hot ...
Britney Spears experienced another comeback last year, thanks to some racy bikini-clad appearances. The pop star toned up even more for the second leg of her U.S. tour, which took center stage at Madison Square Garden in August 2009. very tan, newly blonde Brit strutted her stuff in a vintage white bikini, black hat and sky-high platform heels while filming a commercial for a magazine earlier this month.
But the star doesn't take her bikini body image too seriously...
No stranger to a spot in David Letterman's Top 10, the pop superstar gave her light-hearted take - donning a dark blue bikini this time - on life in the White House on Aug. 18, taking time out from her "Circus" tour to read the celebrated "Top Ten List" on CBS' "The Late Show."
Wearing only a bikini, Spears sat on a desk and reeled off the "Top Ten Ways the Country Would Be Different If Britney Spears Were President," most of which poked fun of the singer's hard-partying image.
But the once-fallen pop princess' musical career has been on the upturn as well...
... as Brit was nominated for seven MTV VMAs for her hit singles "Womanizer" and "Circus" off her latest album of the same name. We'll have to wait until Sept. 13 to see how she makes out.
But for now, Miss Spears can also be proud of her big Teen Choice Award win (pictured above) - she was presented with a surfboard for the "Ultimate Choice" award.
Britney also seems to be winning in her love life as well...
After a string of failed relationships, including with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, and a devastating divorce from Kevin Federline, Britney finally seems to have found a good man. Spears, 27, is reportedly dating her agent, Jason Trawick, whom she was spotted on vacation in the Bahamas with back in May.
"They are totally and definitely dating," the source told People.com. "Her dad loves him. He's the best thing that happened to her."
And as for motherhood?
While the singer picked up goodies at a swag suite in L.A. in early Aug., her boys Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, were showing off what their mommy taught them - how to curse!
The News' Gatecrasher reports that the tots shocked guests by repeatedly yelling, "Oh s-t!"
"We were all surprised by their potty mouths, but it was actually pretty funny," one onlooker acknowledged.
Britney's response? Said the source: "She was too busy picking out freebies to chastise the boys for misbehaving."
But while Brit may need to keep a closer eye on her kids, the troubled pop star is on her way towards greater control over her own life. While her father, Jamie Spears, has been acting as Britney's conservator since her meltdown in Feb. 2008, he apparently thinks his famous daughter is ready to stand on her own.
Daddy Spears is set to ask the court to review the terms of his conservatorship after Britney's "Circus" tour wraps in November, TMZ.com reported at the end of July. It is believed that if the mother of two were not currently on her "Circus" tour, the conservatorship would have ended earlier, as Spears has been improving steadily for months.
At least she's cashing in on some high-profile endorsement deals, even if she faces some accusations of over-photoshopping. The 27-year-old singer is helping revamp her image by appearing in print and TV ads for Candie's, stumping for the company's apparel, footwear, accessories and skivvies, among other items.
The potty-mouthed pop star, who was caught in a series of snapshots in 2007 sans undies, was back to her old tricks, revealing a little more than she wanted during a "Circus" tour stop in Tampa.
Brit complained offstage during a wardrobe change that a certain part of her anatomy was exposed mere minutes ago thanks to a high-cut leotard... but unfortunately for the singer, her mic was still on!
"My p---- was hanging out!" Spears exclaimed - twice - prompting the entire arena to burst into laughter.
But given Brit's ups and downs through the years, this little outburst was considered minor. Take a look back at the chaotic life of the pop princess.
It's been more than a decade since the Louisiana-born singer's first single, '... Baby One More Time,' as well as her iconic schoolgirl look, launched her teen music career. Since then, fame has taken its toll on the pop star, who has gone through some serious ups and down - all in the public eye.
Take a look at the latest newsworthy happenings in the pop princess' 'chaotic' life...
... An eight-year-old Britney auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club. Although she was too young at the time, the aspiring performer joined the show for two years in 1993, when she was 11, alongside fellow future pop stars, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
Spears' first album, '... Baby One More Time' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and four months later, in April of 1999, the teen played up her provocative image even further by appearing scantily-clad on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Oops, she does it again. Spears proved that she had staying power with a successful second album and tight latex suit for her new single, 'Oops!... I did it again.'
In 2000, the rising pop star kicked off her first world tour...
... which included a stop at the MTV Music Awards. During her performance, Britney stripped off a pinstripe suit to reveal an eye-raising ensemble. The nude-colored garment with rhinestones gave the impression of near-nakedness on stage.
Meanwhile, Britney had a prince to share her pop throne with - 'NSync's Justin Timberlake. The pair met while they were both on the Mickey Mouse Club and started seriously dating in 1999.
Above, Brit and Justin arrive at the American Music Awards dressed in coordinating denim outfits in early 2001.
Britney was everywhere in 2001...
... performing with Aerosmith, 'NSync and Nelly at the 2001 Superbowl...
... arriving at the MTV Music Video Awards in New York in September...
Britney and Justin kicked off 2002 by throwing a Superbowl party together, above, although the star couple called it quits soon afterward...
... and Britney fought the breakup blues with her first starring role in the teen coming-of-age drama, "Crossroads."
The pop star also tried her hand at the restaurant business, opening her own eatery, Nyla, but the southern cooking restaurant lasted barely a year before closing.
... and by 2003, Britney was making more news with her single lifestyle than her music. Actor Colin Farrell, above in January, and Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst were among the beaus Britney was linked to.
Britney pushed the envelope even further by sharing a steamy kiss with her idol, Madonna, at the 2003 VMA's. The pair also teamed up for the single, 'Me Against the Music,' featured on Britney's fourth album, 'In the Zone.'
What happens in Vegas... is still legally binding in all 50 states.
Early in the morning of January 3, 2004, Spears married her childhood friend Jason Alexander at A Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
But Britney didn't have long to wait before there was a new man by her side...
... She kicked off her Onyx Hotel tour in 2004, during which she met backup dancer Kevin Federline...
Just three months after the wedding, Britney announced she was pregnant with Kevin Federline's baby. The pop star gave birth to a baby boy, Sean Preston, on Sept. 15, 2005, almost exactly a year after she was wed. Brit's style took a hit after her marriage, and while she was pregnant, the singer kept it super casual, even while walking the red carpet.
Above, Spears arrives at the premiere of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' in July, 2005.
In between babies, Britney and her hubby partied on Grammy night in February 2006...
... but five months later, Britney was pregnant again and posing nude on the cover of Harper's Bazaar for the August 2006 issue.
Just eight weeks after giving birth to Jayden, Britney, shown above looking fit and fabulous at the American Music Awards in December 2007, announced that she was getting a divorce.
Meanwhile, the mother of two was making tabloid covers with her panty-flashing and late-night clubbing. Her divorce was weighing heavily on her and it was clear that Spears was in a downward spiral...
... In the midst of her hard core party-hopping, a newly brunette Britney, looking sad and disheveled, made an impromptu stop at New York's fashion week in February 2007.
But the pop star's troubles were catching up to her fast...
... a week later, Spears shocked the entertainment world when she went into a tattoo parlor for some new ink, and came out with a bald head. The singer suffered a breakdown and impulsively shaved her long locks.
Thus began the pop star's downward spiral in 2007 - that included angrily bashing a paparazzo's car with an umbrella - severely tarnishing the former Mickey Mouse Club member's reputation...
... which was hardly salvaged by her disastrous 'comeback' performance at the MTV VMA's in September. Britney lost custody of her two children a month later on Oct. 1, 2007.
Spears was also facing legal trouble after being caught on camera in September hitting another Mercedes-Benz in a parking lot.
Britney Spears arrived at court for a hearing to work out custody arrangements with ex-husband Kevin Federline for their two young sons on Oct. 26, 2007, in Los Angeles. Though she made two attempts to regain custody of her sons, Federline was granted sole legal and physical custody.
Spears partied until the early morning on her 26th birthday in December 2007 with her notorious handler, Sam Lufti. Spears' parents would later file a restraining order against the singer's one-time 'manager.'
... things were looking up in March, when Britney landed a guest starring role on the hit sitcom 'How I met Your Mother,' which helped her ease back into the spotlight.
In May, Britney even seemed happy leaving Bally Fitness in Culver City, Calif.
Britney looked more put-together than in ages for an appearance at an autism awareness event on July 19 in Los Angeles.
Good news on the cover of the tabloids! Britney flaunted a slimmed-down figure in a bikini on the cover of OK! magazine in Aug., 2008.
And the pop star continued to shape up her image...
... Spears also opted for more modest fashions than her fishnet-and-boot look during 2007, shown here during a shopping trip on Aug. 5 in Los Angeles.
The singer created a buzz when she starred in promos for the Video Music Awards with British comedian Russell Brand at the end of August. Despite the scripted exchanges, Spears seemed on her way back to the spotlight.
Britney not only received a standing ovation when she graced the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 7, but she also picked up three awards for her video "Piece of Me."
Spears was also back in the studio, shown here on Oct. 15, working on her upcoming album, "Circus."
Not only did her first single, 'Womanizer' reach No. 1 on the charts, but the singer was also working on getting her stage skills back.
Despite the rise, Spears bared a reflective soul in a new documentary on MTV. The singer, shown above in a scene in a hotel room in the 90-min doc, says under her father's conservatorship, her life now has "no excitement, there's no passion. I think it's too in-control." She compares it to a jail sentence, except it's "never-ending. It's 'Groundhog Day' every day."
'If I wasn't under the restraints I'm under, I'd feel so liberated,' the singer says in the documentary. 'When I tell them the way I feel, it's like they hear but they're really not listening.'
The fallen pop star performed for the first time since her disastrous MTV Music Awards show in 2007 at the Bambi awards in Germany on Nov. 27, singing tracks off her new album, "Circus."
Britney borrowed from Madonna's 'Sweet and Sticky' tour style...
... as well as her onstage antics, which showed a more energetic Spears than the sullen, limp figure she embodied at the MTV performance.
But a rocky performance on 'X Factor,' the British 'American Idol,' raised fears that Britney is not quite back on track yet.
While she was still a bit rusty, Spear's onstage appearance was in defiant contrast to her zombie-like performance at the 2007 MTV VMAs. The singer showed off her toned body...
... in sexy costumes that harked back to her heyday as a national sex symbol.
Spears was hard at work in the studio collaborating with contributing choreographer JaQuel Knight as well as Jose, the Womanizer from the European tour. The singer posted pictures from rehearsals to the Web site in January.
Britney fans got a small tasted of 'The Circus' in December...
... when the pop star performed on 'Good Morning America.' Strutting her fit new body through a Circus tent in Lincoln Center, Spears celebrated her 27th birthday on the day of the release of her album.
In late 2008, Spears guest starred on a series of TV shows. The singer looked to be on the right track a year after her disastrous performance at the MTV Movie awards.
It seems that fame is a mixed blessing for the songstress, who's both ruled the charts for her music and hit rock bottom in her personal life. But nonetheless, Miss Spears has certainly go down in history as one of pop music's biggest acts.
