Which suburbs offer the most affordable, mid-range and expensive houses in Brisbane?
The latest data from Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) for the March 2010 quarter sales shows that even suburbs with negative growth for the quarter have still had positive growth for the preceding 12 months.
Of the affordable suburbs, Zillmere had the healthiest growth of almost 5% but prices in Bald Hills fell almost 6%.
In the mid-range suburbs, Moggill experienced growth for the quarter over 9% yet Sunnybank declined 6.5%.
The most expensive suburbs looked like they had a volatile quarter, with big highs and lows. Paddington experienced a change in the median price of more than 32% but Clayfield prices fell 16.7%.
Brisbane's median house price remained flat at $535,000 during the March 2010 quarter, as did the Gold Coast on $510,000. The Sunshine Coast posted a small 1.1 per cent rise to $480,000. You can compare the median house prices and rental prices of Brisbane's 182 suburbs in our Suburbs section.
