If you represent a local political party please feel free to add a page (although you should be aware that others may edit this). History about your party in Chester is welcome. Chesterwiki may edit the format of your page to make it clear what is fact about politics in Chester (N.B. page is out of date) and what is a political "advert": - otherwise we will try not to edit your "advert", but comments which at our opinion incite racial/ethnic hatred etc will be deleted.

[edit] Political structures in Chester
Chester is governed (mostly) by the City Council, which is currently controlled by the Conservative Party, who took power from the Labour/Lib-Dem alliance in the local elections of 3 May 2007. The Conservatives are the largest group on the council. Cheshire County Council oversees certain aspects of how Chester is run. It is currently controlled by the Conservatives. The sitting MP is Christine Russell (Labour).
