YAY FOR DAYS ;)

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 12:21 PM — By Dean Henneberg

Why wasn't Kelly Monaco nominated?

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 12:24 PM — By J9

Where is younger actor/actress????

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 12:31 PM — By Kendra

With the amount of time Kendall is on the screen how can they call her a "supporting actress"?

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 12:33 PM — By Lynn

I am shocked that Crystal Chappell from GL was not nominated! Looks like the soap industry is snubbing the already canceled GL. What a shame!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 12:58 PM — By Mary

No Laura Wright or Sarah Brown from GH? Can't believe it!!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 12:59 PM — By Michelle

No Y&R; for best drama series. Can not believe it!!!!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:02 PM — By Jayce

So HAPPY For Days it has been getting the snub. BOO HOOO NO GL, Y&R; OR ATWT you get it practically every year so GET OVER IT. Days fans have had to put up with NO nominations for years. Poor Deidre should have been nominated but she hasn't been. SHe is the real Susan Lucci at least she got nominated. YES for Days and the cast. Funny how only 2 of the 5 are still on the show.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:03 PM — By Jane

Crystal Chappel was robbed....why of all years would she be snubbed? This was a career defining year for her!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:05 PM — By Toni

What has kemo done to get nominated? she didnt do anything this year(shes been to busy showing her goodies in vegas). LW got robbed, but thats what happens when your on a sinking ship. You get sunk to the bottom with the rest of the ship crew. And why didnt Y&R; get best drama series nom? Is this a way to make sure that Days finally has a chance to get a award , by limiting the competition to only two other shows? I love tony geary , but good god why is is always nominated for being on the show for like four months or less? Whatever this is what GH gets for getting rid of its talented people like RH, I hope they dont win anything (except for BA) so that they can fire Guza and Frons and save GHs future.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:28 PM — By VIkki

Wow - these nom's are really mediocure.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:43 PM — By Lorraine

I can't believe that Crystal Chappell didn't get nominated she did and outstanding job her best work ever she got robbed big time what and insult! Just because the show got canceled she still deserves and Emmy!!!!!!! Looks like GL is being snobbed!!!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:46 PM — By Denise

The nominations are a joke! Especially in the younger actress and actor categories. Where are nomininations for the actors who play Starr and Cole on One Life to Live and Parker on As the World Turns? No, instead we get Rafe-GL, Devon- YR, Maxie-GH and Jana-YR. Oh, please did these characters even have big storylines this year? I seem to remember Rafe being gone for a lot of last year. Which brings me to Anthony Geary. I love the guy on GH WHEN HE'S THERE, but why is he nominated again when he's hardly on the show? Why not Maurice Benard who is on the show just about everyday? And what's with the nom for Ava-Days? She was only there for a few months and her storyline kinda sucked, otherwise the actress would probably still be on Days.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:57 PM — By Dennis

Biggest omissions were both from OLTL, John-Paul Lavoisier and Tuc Watkins.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:58 PM — By Alice Roche

I cannot believe that Kristen Aldersen and Brandon Buddy were not nominated! And no "Young and the Restless" for best show? srw5kh

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 1:59 PM — By Christy Lynn WIlson

GL was ROBBED. How is it possible that Kim Zimmer, Gina Tognioni and Marcy Rylan weren't nominated this year. That's just CRAZY.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 2:07 PM — By Deana

Finally, finally, finally. Kirsten Storms deserves that nomination and win! She is the best thing on General Hospital.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 2:40 PM — By Shannon

I can't believe LW was left out for best actress and CH so should have been nominated for supporting actress, she is sooooo funny as Dianne. I am glad KS and JB are nominated for younger lead actress only now I can't choose between them because I feel loyalty for both. I wish I could give the whole show an award. GH ROCKS!!!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 2:43 PM — By Joel

I agree that the women og Gl were robbed! Gina aand Crystal the most. They kept the show going during a rocky year!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 2:43 PM — By Mary

I also agree on the Crystal C and Gina T being robbed thing!! Sarah B, Laura W, Crystal C and Gina T are 4 of the best in daytime!! What's going on here????????

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 2:55 PM — By Viv

The reason why the nominations are considered mediocre by some fans is because the Daytime Emmys have lost their shine with it being moved to the CW. If ABC, CBS, or NBC pick up the show next year, we will see our faves get nominated. I'm not a GL fan, but I recognize the actors talent. They haven't been given full consideration because of the show's cancellation. I'm still scratching my head over the Drama Series noms--no OLTL. Madness! I would have liked to see more of their actors recognized.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 2:56 PM — By Briana

Congratulations to the nominees.. Wow, we have a married couple nominated this year.. Susan Haskell and Thorsten Kaye... YAYYYYY.. I am so surprised about Katherine Kelly Lang and Mackenzie Maury..

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 3:33 PM — By Christine

Kirsten Storm absolutely should have been nominated. She was robbed last year - she was fantastic, hopefully they make up for it this year! I am glad Days is finally getting recoginized. Also agree that Anthony Geary should not be a lead actor nominee, he has not done anything to deserve it. There are a few people left off the list, especially younger actor, but as a whole this is better than the past.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 3:34 PM — By Ashley

I am absolutely shocked at a few things on here. First of all -- GH didn't get a Outstanding or Supporting Actress? Unheard of. And why is Tony Geary STILL getting nominations? He's barely on screen anymore and when he is, it's such a snooze fest...and this is coming from someone who used to LOVE watching him. And I am so happy to see Kirsten & Julie nominated. I'm rooting 10000% for Kirsten, but Julie deserves it, too. They've both had excellent years. GOOD LUCK GENERAL HOSPITAL! <3

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 4:33 PM — By Birdie

Congratulations Alicia Minshew! Finally some recognition for this fabulous actress! As for Gina T. of Guiding Light, you'll have to take that up with her fellow cast members. She wasn't a prenom.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 5:01 PM — By Smallboy

I don't like the nominations... Where are Nancy Lee Grahn, Kim Zimmer, Greg Vaughan, Kristian Alfonso, Joshua Morrow or Adrienne Frantz?

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 4:58 PM — By slewly

Why oh why is Alicia in the supporting category? I think it's a bit unfair. She needs to but her big girl panties on and nominate herself in the Lead category where she belongs. CC got dissed big time. She so deserved not just the nomination but to win. She was amazing this year. I'm happy for Tamara. She should have won it when she was on GH anyway.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 5:27 PM — By Kris

Kris & Bran from OLTL totally deserved noms. Maybe next year.. they both do some excellent work!! I coulda seen JPL (Rex) with a nom too.. Hooray for Kirsten Storms!! She is awesome and one of my favorite actresses, I hope she wins! (No offense to Julie, who is good, but not as great as Kirsten) Laura Wright is a glaring ommison IMO. I can NOT believe OLTL didn't get a best show nom.. helloooooo does anyone watch that show? It's the best thing since sliced freakin bread!!! Always fresh and funny and drama filled!!! To all the DAYS noms.. BOOO Days sucks, has sucked for years, everytime I flip the channel to it, it looks like some generic soap rip off, or a spoof of soaps.. blahhhhh. Good luck to everyone who was nominated!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 7:02 PM — By Michael

I am absolutely horrified by these nominations...no Gina Tognoni or Crystal Chappell???? This is such a disgusting farewell to one of the best and classiest shows to have ever been on television. We who watched it, you all know what I am talking about. Shame on the darn "academy".

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 7:42 PM — By Kordney

Susan Haskell (Marty Saybrooke)(OLTL)!! has lead actress category hands down!! and so does Bree Williamson (Jessica Buchanan) for supporting actress!!...and OLTL was robbed for Outstanding Drama Series!....

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 8:12 PM — By janice

Same old list people come on this is 2009 I think we need new judges the list never really changes boycott!!!!!!!

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 8:24 PM — By Carlos

I'm constantly stunned to see the the actress who plays Starr Manning is consistantly overlooked. She had a incredible year and she doesn't even get a nomination. But Chelsea from DAYS who nothing anything close to that gets nominated - AGAIN. Starr had the teen pregnancy story and the "loss" of her newborn child. She was incredible in those scenes and it was hearbreaking to watch. Pity. I'm sure I'll writing this email again next year when she's not nominated again.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 9:04 PM — By Jewell

I`m happy that AMC got some Emmy nominations.. I`m also disappointed Bobbie Eakes got passed by.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 9:09 PM — By Willie

YAY for B&B;!!!!!! I'm so happy to see B&B; nominated for outstanding drama series and to be the front runner (if you go by ratings). B&B; has had some good storylines this past year.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 10:20 PM — By KC

I cannot believe that GH was pretty much shut out again. It is the best show on daytime. Where are the nominations for Maurice Bernard, Laura Wright, Steve Burton???? And where is the nomination for best show???

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 10:37 PM — By Jami

Crystal Chappell's exclusion from the list is beyond ridiculous! How can anyone who has seen her work from last year say she isn't worthy of recognition! The academy really proved themselves to be a bunch of bumbling fools! I have to say I really understand why awards shows are a big joke among people these days.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 10:42 PM — By TONY

so happy that Y&R; was finally snubbed.... that show has been going down hill for years, and coasting its Emmy nods on reputation and ratings.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 10:51 PM — By Virginia

What a disappointment this years emmy nominations are. Maurice Bernard, Laura Wright, Rick Hearst, Steve Burton, Bruce Weitz,Sebastian Roche, and the soap itself left out. Bold and Beautiful nominated for best show. Whatever for. Tamara Braun for her role as Ava on Days? Total boredom when she was on. I could go on and on about other actors that were left out, but what's the point.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 11:44 PM — By LisaZ

When I saw this list the first words out of my mouth were "And this is the reason why ratings are so low!" C'mon!!! Where is Maurice Benard, Laura Wright, Kelly Monaco, Tyler Christopher, Natalia Livingston, Cameron Mathison, and Kim Zimmer? All of which deserve something.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 11:55 PM — By lea

I am thrilled with the nominations. Finally AMC is getting the recognition it deserves. I have been watching AMC since the beginning. It has boring times and then there is the great storytelling. I think this year the show has evolved. The storylines have given the actors a chance to show their true talents. The nominations are well deserved. I look forward to watching the award show. I hope the results are worth waiting for. It is too bad, though, that some of the actors are competing against each other. But this just makes me think that the actors from my show have more of a chance to win. These nominations just prove that AMC is evolving once again as a wonderful show with wonderful performers. Good Luck to the show and the actors.

Posted Thu May14, 2009, 11:54 PM — By Bria

Where the heck is Starr???? She should had been nominated instead of Liberty. All Liberty done the whole year was chase Parker around. And Y&R; is not nominated. But i'm glad that MCE is nominated for supported actress, she is the reason why I watch All My Children. And I also had the pleasure of meeting her in real life and she's super nice!

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 1:30 AM — By Terry

I have to agree that numerous actors and actresses were overlooked, but finally Days of our Lives got a nod. There were so many people on Days as well as other shows who should have been nominated but weren't. I'd like to know where they (the nominators) come up with their list, looks a lot like a dart game in my opinion.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 1:40 AM — By flashgordon26

I am so happy for EJ Bonilla( Rafe) GL's nomination. He is such a natural actor, I never feel like I am watching him "acting" and the show doesn't use him nearly enough.Guiding Light should have been nominated for best show, the last six months or so have been classic soap opera.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 2:26 AM — By crystalsfollower

I am absolutely appalled by the exclusion of Crystal Chappell from GL. She is without a doubt the best actress there is on daytime television today. The whole GL community has did something no other soap in HISTORY has done. They have told a true depiction of what love really is without any antics but with much angst in true soap fashion. It saddens me to think the emmy nomination committee will always have wool covering their eyes. Shame on you all! GL I love each and everyone of you and CC, you will always be the GODDESS of daytime television.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 3:57 AM — By Jim Fung

I'm really happy for EJ Bonilla too, for reasons similar to flashgordon26's! And I also think Crystal Chappell was robbed and should have been nominated -- although hopefully she will be next year for the material that aired this year, even if the show is completely gone then (which I hope it won't be).

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 8:04 AM — By Kelly

I am quite pleased with the list this year! Last year there really wasn't anyone I could root for but this time there's a lot of them. All of AMC's nominations are well deserved. I really got back into the show this past year and was impressed by its quality. I'm thrilled that Kirsten Storms and Bradford Anderson both got noms this year! Such talented actors they are.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 11:17 AM — By Joanne

Laura Wright from GH has again been robbed! As was General Hospital! Laura Wright is the reason I began watching GH -- when she left GL for GH, so did I! Also, how about Bruce Weitz who played the evil/crazy Zacchara patriarch!? He gave me chills, he was so bad!

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 3:12 PM — By Michael

I just want to say for the record once again, that this is a disgrace to Guiding Light. Not only is it canceled, but the show itself gets a Best Drama Series snub? Not to mention leaving Gina Tognoni and Crystal Chappell off completely? You people who vote are crazy. Also, Kristen Alderson and Kassie DePaiva from One Life also should have been included. I sincerely hope another network picks up GL because it needs to keep kickin rear the way it has been lately. It is better than any show out there.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 5:10 PM — By Aidan

Where the hell are the nominations for Kristen Alderson and Brandon Buddy? I'm sorry, I know the others nominees for Younger Actor and Actress are extremely talented, but the way these two are consistently overlooked is appalling. They OWN the younger set not only on OLTL, but the entire ABC lineup. This is a travesty. Shame on whomever is responsible.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 5:13 PM — By Jana

The list...for lack of a better word...sucks!!!! All I can say is that this year's Daytime Emmy's will be very very boring.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 5:16 PM — By Kim

There are tons of actors and actresses working in daytime and only 5 nominations for each category, so we must always take out someone who WAS nominated when giving the name of someone who we feel should be nominated but was NOT. I am not familiar with any of the lead actresses' work this year, so I can't honestly say who I would take out. However, I can say that I think Crystal Chappell was amazing as Olivia on GL, and I was surprised and disappointed that she was not nominated. GL and AMC are the only ones I've seen recently, and I have to say that I am surprised that AMC was nominated. I think GL is a superior show -- more realistic (considering it's a soap) and better written, as well as extremely well acted. And the Olivia/Natalia storyline blows the Bianca/Reese storyline out of the water. The former is one of the best love stories I've ever seen anywhere -- daytime, prime time, film. The latter was a complete mess. Perhaps the academy was biased, not wanting to recognize a ca

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 5:20 PM — By Kim

Just finishing my cutoff sentence from above: Perhaps the academy was biased, not wanting to recognize a canceled show. Too bad; I truly think GL was more deserving of a nomination for best show than AMC, and perhaps GL's actresses were also more deserving of noms than others.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 5:25 PM — By Rupert

Kirsten Storms and Brandon Anderson (along with Julie Berman) are making GH impossible to watch. I cringe whenever any one of them appears. (When they are all in a scene together, I can't reach for the remote fast enough.) Kirsten and Julie are both talented actresses. But since the writers decided to put their storyline on the front burner, they've become idiots. (As for Brandon, well, let's just say that he obviously doesn't believe in the theory that less is more. Subtle, he is not.) Anyway, GH's writers must think that it's necessary to "dumb down" a female character to make her more palatable to the audience (e.g. too-screwed-up-to-be-believable Carly and Alexis, falling for Jerry Jaks? Come On!) Now that the powers that be have seen fit to fire RICK HEARST, the best actor on Daytime, I won't have to endure this god-awful tripe anymore. Let's hope the rumors are true, and B&B; have hired Rick to reprise his role as Whipp.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 6:20 PM — By tngolfergirl

HELLO The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, I usually agree for the most part with your nominee selections, but what the...this year you missed it big time...Where's Crystal Chappell??? Best actor on daytime! During the past year we have seen Crystal at her absolute best...the heart transplant storyline building into the Otalia storyline...my goodness...there is no one better! Very disappointed not to see Crystal's name as a nominee. And the writing for Guiding Light has been phenomenal...but yet no nomination for Jill Lorie Hurst??? Again a big disappointment. It's sad to say but in my eyes the daytime emmys have lost all credibility.

Posted Fri May15, 2009, 11:19 PM — By Beth

Yay for AMC! Finally an outstanding drama nom. But why is the ceremony not until Aug. 30? It's usually sometime in June. What gives?

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 12:56 AM — By Cher

Although I am very happy to see Maura West still nominated, because she delivers in every scene, not matter how the incredibly dumb the writers seem to be at times,I think the nominations over all are a bunch of crap and have pretty much sealed the fate of the Daytime Emmy's. The only reason why I continued to watch and route for Guiding Light is because of the superb job of Crystal Chappell and for her not to be nominated is a complete disgrace.

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 8:07 AM — By James Keller

I hae to say these are the worst set of nominations i ever seen! No GL and Young and Restless for best Soap??? Where is chrsyal Chappell And Michelle stafford for best actress? I wont even bother to watch the awards this year!

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 1:01 PM — By Loretta

i am not surprised that y & r was omitted...their storylines are really ridiculous....they allow criminals (gloria and her son, kevin) literally get away with murder and nothing happens....just don't understand why that family is now the center of this story...i used to like this show... b & b has no business being nominated for best show...it too is horrible and ridge can't act.... liberty being nominated as best younger actress is great pick...i always enjoyed her performance...now parker, he can't act so it was good that he was not nominated as younger actor...don't know why devon was nominated either...he only has one line or two ever so often... it is understandable why the soaps are all going downhill...first the storylines are all so ludicrous that you feel stupid watching it....

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 4:19 PM — By Erin

i have loved watching all my children and one life to live since i was a lil kid sitting with my grandma. and now im old enough to actually understand the storylines. haha. so i fully agree that Alisha Minshew should be upgraded to lead actress. she is on the screen more than anyone else these days. i also think that kristen alderson and brandon buddy should have been on the younger actress and actor categories. their storyline has been one of the most intense of any young soap stars.

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 4:49 PM — By OLTL Ruless

Yipppeeee! Finally Bree Williamson get a nod. It's about time. I've been rooting for her for years. Kristin Alderson and crazy Todd deserved one too

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 8:18 PM — By Judie

I cannot believe that Sarah Brown or Laura Wright were not nominated. Laura's portrayal of Carly has been excellent and heartbreaking! Very happy to see Bradford Anderson though. I love Spinelli!

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 9:06 PM — By Kephallinian

bummber that Crystal Chappelle's not nominated!! helloooo!!! who can resist Chappelle's charm and great acting. she's the reason many people tune back into soaps, well, at least I was one of those people. if that's not an indication for nom. then what is? ARH!!!

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 10:42 PM — By jodie

DAYS deserves every nomination they received, especially the best drama catagory. When it comes to weddings, murder, attempted murder and love scenes no other show does it like DAYS. And it's because its the only show that has the guts to take risks. Everyone else is sooo scared of the criticism. The writers and the actors and the fans of the other shows can deny this all they want, it's the truth. Why is AMC up for best drama? The only reason people make a big deal about AMC is cause of Susan Lucci. Who quite frankly, is not a very good actress!!!! To all true DAYS fans:if the show walks away empty handed for the second year, don't be angry for too long. Just take comfort in the fact that it's because those other shows are jealous of DAYS being the ONLY one that does have the guts to take risks.

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 10:40 PM — By GH1FAN

I can't believe Laura Wright was robbed she deserved a nomination for her great work this past year and always!!!!

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 11:44 PM — By Julia

I cant believe that Laura Wright wasn't nominated, she totally deserves it. Why is Alicia nominated she wasn't even on AMC that much this year. I love General Hospital but why is Anthony Geary nominated again!! Why isnt Maurice Bernand or Steve Burton nominated?? You lost one watcher this year thats for sure.

Posted Sat May16, 2009, 11:46 PM — By Debbie

I love Days and yes for years they have been robbed of nominations but this year I hope they win!!! Also Sami deserves an award but wasnt nominated she is great on screen I only watch if she is on that day and sometimes I watch for stefano he deserves an daytime emmy for the best villain catagory.

Posted Sun May17, 2009, 12:06 AM — By Liegh

I am a bit suprised that YR is not nominated for outstanding drama series, however the bold and the beautiful was? Not that I don't love B&B; I just feel as though there has been much more drama from Y&R.;

Posted Sun May17, 2009, 10:25 AM — By Dianne

I CANNOT believe that Y&R; was passed over for outstanding drama series. Since Maria Arena Bell has taken over, it has NEVER been better!!! I am THRILLED with the nomination of Jeanne Cooper! Her storyline and OUTSTANDING work is worthy of taking home the emmy. However, where were the nominations for Greg Rikaart and Adrienne Frantz? I don't get it.

Posted Sun May17, 2009, 1:28 PM — By Brandy

These nominations are exactly why I have stopped watching daytime television. Natalia Livingston and Tyler Christopher have both been robbed year after year and I am tired of it. I refuse to watch this anymore. I hope they both leave the daytime world and break into movies where they will be appreciated.

Posted Sun May17, 2009, 6:12 PM — By An

i am sooooo glad that kirsten got nominated. she is like my most fave actress on all time. i realllly want her to win. wish kelly monaco was on the list too though. i cannot believe that gh was not nominated for great drama...they re personally my favorite. alicia should be up for LEAD actress though. and anthony geary may be a good actor but NEVER ON!!!! let somebody else get a chance to shine.

Posted Mon May18, 2009, 12:41 AM — By Gail

I just don't understand why the nominees of Outstanding Drama Series reduced to three instead of five. I was disappointed that OLTL didn't get nominated. It deserves its recognition.

Posted Mon May18, 2009, 9:19 AM — By Lynda

WHY Y&R; NOT NOMINATED FOR OUTSTANDING SERIES?I WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE EMMY!.

Posted Mon May18, 2009, 12:38 PM — By kelsey

I don't get why Maurice Bernard wasn't nominated when Anthony Geary isn't as big anymore and I don't know why Laura Wright wasn't nominated either she has done the storyline of Michael's mother anticipating her son's recovery so well! and GH should be nominated for best drama series, too! UGH this killlllls me and I bet anyone can tell I am a huge GH fan, but come onnnnn anyone can tell those actors deserved a nomination!

Posted Mon May18, 2009, 8:02 PM — By rina palazzolo

what happened to general hospital?they were just better off not doing the awards this year.

Posted Tue May19, 2009, 5:06 AM — By Joe

Laura Wright (GH), Kristin Alderson & Brandon Buddy (OLTL) were robbed!!! Why is Spinelli nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Maxie nominated for Younger Actress (instead of Best Supporting Actress)? In the "why are they nominated category" - Crazy Annie and Zach (AMC) and Tony Geary (GH). Where is the nomination for Jason (GH)? The nominations really suck this year - hey but at least it's not all about CBS (like last year). I am glad that DAYS got some recognition FINALLY! Not that anyone is actually gonna tune into the hillbilly channel to watch the awards.

Whatever!! No Y&R; for Best Show but B&B...the; academy has NO CLUE!!! B&B; is the worse show EVER!! Besides the acting...the storylines are ridiculous!! I will totally be boycotting this year's show!!

Laura Wright is doing the best work of any actress on daytime television at the present time. The fact that she can not even get a nomination is quite puzzling.

I am confused by this all. First of all i love tamara braun to death and i watched days for a week just because she was on it, but yeah she was on for like a month. I loved her as Carly on Gh, and i have really gotten into Laura Wright and into her version of Carly, and feels she was overlooked. She brings awesomeness to the show. And Anthony Geary being nominated is a joke, he had no storyline this year and i doubt if he even aired a month i think steve burton or tyler christopher should of had a nomination. And steve this year had a great storyline or at least was just doing the awesome job he does. Im happy with the younger actress category, supporting actor i think spinelli should of been moved to younger actor... although i think lulu should of moved to supporting actress.... oh well what can u do, although i am pissed about best drama series, the three that are nominated are rediculous!!!!!! Days is probably the worst soap ever, b n b was cool when they had the old writing team, and i never watched AMC

What are you thinking putting Maura West up for the catagory of outstanding lead actress instead of Michelle Stafford.

it is unbelievable to me that Laura Wright was not nominated.... she is a tremendous actress and deserves the nomination.... I am also surprised that OLTL was not nominated for outstanding series..... their story lines have kept me intrigued and not wanting to miss a single episode!!!

Y&R; is and has been the BEST daytime drama!!! You should have FIVE nominated soaps. Why has there been a decline in the promotion of "soaps"? "Guiding Light" should not be cancelled!!! What a shame!!!

I don't no why that Young & Restless & GH is not on the best drama series they are the best. i am glad that jessica is on there.

What happen to my Y&R; ,they haad some many good storyliness. I mean what about Nick/Sharon /Phyllis. Neil and Kane .I am so mad. But I still am glad Days was in the running . I guess one out of two is not bad.I guess the we have to wait to next year.

So excited for Bree Williamson. Her scenes in the aftermath of Nash's death were amazing. I immediately thought- Emmy winning worthy. Congrats to Bradford. when he rattles on- it seems so effortless and comic relief is needed. Excited for Daniel Cosgrove- loved him on 90210. OLTL should have been nominated. That is the show I hate to miss.

Congratulations to both AMC and Days! I am so happy for both of them. AMC had a great run this year, despite what everyone here on the Internet has said! If you look deeper into this last year, AMC did some amazing things! The addition of Charles Pratt brought great intensity. The tornadoes especially. No other soap did anything close to that! Daytime’s first Lesbian wedding (and annulment) was introduced! AMC had a couple flaws, but overall they had a great run. Extra congrats to Alicia, Thorsten, Melissa, Jacob, and Vincent! WOOT! Oh, and Debbi! And Cornelius! Days of Our Lives was the biggest surprise…I wasn’t expecting them to get 13 noms! But it is well deserved. Days really stepped it up this past year. Dena Higley has really cooked up some interesting story. Heres hoping that AMC or Days wins. And OMG, why are people upset that Y&R; wasn’t nominated for Drama Series? What did they do that was worthy? Y&R; did their usual. Sure, the storylines nowadays are juicy and addicting. But what else? Ever

The soap with the highest ratings, Y & R, was completely snubbed this year!!! No nomination for best soap, no nomination for best lead actor, no nomination for best supporting actor or actress -- I am completely floored and I will NOT be watching this year.

Thank you to the Emmys for nominating Vincent Irizarry from AMC! He is the reason I came back to watching the show again. Fabulous acting and a really interesting storyline. He is very frightening this time around on AMC! I thought he deserved it years ago when David's child died and his grief was so palatable, it made me weep. Good Luck and Congrats to Vincent Irizarry!

Can't believe Farah Fath was passed over (Gigi, OLTL). The work she did when Shane was first diagnosed with leukemia was epic. Maybe because of when it aired it was too late to be considered for this year. Maybe next year.

You have got to be kidding me with this list. This list is a mess. No Young and the Restless for outstanding drama. No Michelle Stafford, No Peter Bergman, no Katherine Kelly Lang againnnnnnn.....No Parker from As the World Turns and No Guiding Light nominations. Come on!!!!!!! I will not be watching this show this year. I will read online to see who won!

Why hasn't the actress who plays Starr on OLTL ever been nominated? She has played the role from little girl to teenager and does such a good job of it, especially this year with the baby story. She is way overdo for at least a nomination.

I watch many of the soaps. How in the world can Kristen Alderson (Starr, OLTL) not have a nomination. Her acting is SUPERB!! I can feel her emotions right down into the souls of my feet!! Shame on you emmy people.

I have watched soaps off and on,as well as come and go, for over thirty years. Daytime is dwindling in viewership and writing talent. More often than not stories are repeated from show to show, writers as well as actors bounce from show to show and nothing changes, UNTIL GUIDING LIGHT. Now everything old is new again, from production to storytelling to acting this show is fresh, bold and worth every minute of viewing time. We now have a soap that could go toe to toe with the UK's best:witness the death of Grady at Phillips hands and the chilling night scene of the empty hillside and his cell phone ringing and echoing, what a show. But what does CBS do cancel it. When other shows could have followed suit and revolutionized daytime given the chance, we're stuck knowing all too well that networks don't give a hoot and a holler over daytime viewers. Toss the emmys off off broadway(the CW) and keep kicking. No wonder this list is a travesty,my jaw dropped. When it comes to audiences we are at the bottom

WHERE IS PETER BERGMAN'S NAME? HE'S AMAZING AND SHOULD HAVE WON THE YEAR HE HELPED WITH THE BIRTH OF PHYLIS' DAUGHTER IN THE ELEVATOR! SNUBBED AGAIN! WHO HAS THE POWER TO NOMINATE? NEED TO CHANGE THAT ASAP!

I am pleasantly surprised with AMC nominations. Although they have boring story lines sometimes,it has gotten better & it's still one of my fav. soaps. And Alicia Minshew in Supporting Actress? She is definitely a lead actress. I am sadly disappointed that OLTL & GH didn't get nom. for Outstanding Drama Series. Come on! And Bree Williamson, Kirsten Alderson, John-Paul Lavoisier, & John McBain from OLTL got snubbed! They had good story lines this year, especially Bree Williamson. And Anthony Geary for Lead Actor? Come on! He gets to come & go as he pleases on the show. He definitely isn't a lead actor. What about Maurice Bernard, Steve Burton, Laura Wright who have waaay more airtime? Not too happy with these noms.I think the fans should be the ones to vote considering we're the ones who are keeping the shows on the air! No wonder ratings aren't as high as they used to be

I can not Understand why Guiding Light was canceled! And look at the talent that is being over looked at the Emmy's!!!! What a Shame! I am discusted at the fact that Y&R; is also being snubbed out! If they cancel that too, They are IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both Y&R; and GL should have been nominated for best daytime dramas, and lead actress and lead actor catigories. STUPID.......just idiotic. GL..."REVA" BUZZ" "ALAN" "PHILIP" "OLIVIA" DINA" Y&R......;"PHYLIS" "NICK" "JACK" "VICTOR""KEVEN" "AMBER" "ADAM" "MRS.C" "SHARON" "NIKKI" REALLY? These people are not worth it???? I guess the individuals that decide this don't ever watch these shows? Or hey' maybe it's rigged to support the shows that they are not trying to cancel!!! I wish someone with any smarts at all will save GL. And Cancel Y&R;? stupidity!!!! How sad for daytime~

How in the hell did One Life to Live not get nominated for Outstanding Drama Series? They should definitely win writing and directing. The return of Marty and Jessica's personalities took this show to a whole new level this year. If Susan Haskel does not win, I will be shocked. Her scenes where she discovered Todd's betrayal are what Emmy's are made for. I think the omission of Star and Cole is laughable. How could you nominate Devon from Y&R;? What does he do? Wasted nominations. I am enjoying AMC now. Definitely on an upswing and the Erica/Ryan pairing could be Great!!!

I've been a GH fan for 20 years, and I love Tony Geary, but I agree that Maurice and/or Steve deserved his spot much more. And for Laura Wright to not get a nomination is unbelievable. What else does she have to do to get noticed? She is absolutely fabulous.
