You see before you, in all their shiny glory, the brand new PHP BB3 forums. These should provide more speed, flexibility and stability - as well as offering extra girth and length via the new widescreen format.
Bear in mind that this is day one of the new system - and no matter how hard we've planned and tested in development, nothing is quite the same as making it live. Be kind!
We'll be doing ongoing testing and evaluation over the next few days and beyond, but head on over to CVG's community forum to let us know what you think of the initial look and feel.
There's bound to be a bit of a bedding-in period and you too can play your part by lending a hand. If you run across any bugs, glitches or unusual occurrences, please let us know in the Community forum and we'll do our very best to squash 'em as quick as we can.
We've tried to make the new system as user friendly as possible, with brand new sub forums, the ability to report posts, manage friends and foes, new moderator powers including the mighty ban stick and generally a bunch of features designed to make the forum a better and more welcoming place for the whole CVG community.
And that's just the start - after a little time to evaluate performance and stability, we're going to be following it up by introducing meta-moderation and other user tools which we hope will make this a proper home for the community.
So go have fun, play, explore and then let us know what you think. We'll be watching.

Nice to be back cvg, a few of us 'holiday'd' in eurogamer land and after some initial hostility from the locals we made a few friends and got a nice tan.

Yes , Dragons den awaits , as does the world , perhaps Vanessa Feltz could be involved some how, perhaps a small share could go to feed starving children in Africa, we could send her over to walk amongst them to film an emotional short about there plight while wearing said clothing. We would have to remind the camera man to not film her shovelling handfulls of crisps into her face between takes though , I think we'd have offers from all 5 dragons. By the way i talk like James Khan in real life , all precise like.

YAY! Its good to be back I was a little lost without my daily comment reading on CVG. EG didn't quite make up for it. Its good to come back home from a holiday (or refugee camp in our case )

I think you actually made the most insightful observation on there SB , when you said ,That you wished Altitude had called the thread something else , as i feel in a way it did actually make some on there , view us in a different light , which is interesting, as in reality we are just a bunch of gamers who like to comment on games . No offence by the way alt , totally innocent (and good )fun idea with some interesting results . Not generalising there were a few good sorts of course, including (and not limited too) in my view Lionheart, who struck me as being pretty cool and knowledgeable, he handled a little childish antic of mine with good humour , real good laugh , Jimmy too seemed balanced and put forward how they like things done over there, in a clear,pleasant way without coming across as aloof or rude. Us 'seeking refuge' on a rival computer game website was the most interesting and, in fact only, social experiment I have ever took part in.
Basically, the few CVG stragglers who went to EG for a few days were treated with contempt, suspicion and even pure hostility from some quarters just for being different, or alien to the norm. We were aliens.
Or more clearly, what happened in the micro-cosm (is that the correct word?) of the 'CVG Refugee Camp' thread on EGs forums is the same type of human nature that could be applied to immigrants. Or gypsies. Or indeed aliens when they do visit, by the general masses. You'll get people shouting out:

I was reading those insults, and was thinking, I remember that!
I guess it's human nature to treats the 'newbies' with contempt... well, I say I guess it is, but I wouldn't do that. But it did calm down a fair bit, towards the end.

As i tried to explain earlier just before you helped us back on the Rescue UFO , we were all brushing up on our language skills , reading the articles in between "Voluptuous: The Vanessa edition" in case we needed to blend in with one of the spelling bee spot checks from a prefect. ( as a footnote i read an article on Cholera once in a jazz mag with pictures , that really helped with "the mood" if you catch my drift) Glad we all made it back , sterling effort from yourself dude especially at some rather trying points , up for the next set of social experiments ? . Sorry CVG, your a nice bunch and all and deserve feedback for the site changes and service but Im not gonna give lots, I just want to tell every1 I just got a 3d TV, downloaded Motorstorm 3d Rift and the 3 games + demo package and all I can say is f**k me, its soo f**kin underatted I nearly exressed myself in an adult manner when I saw the gorge in Demo level of Motorstorm, I honestly cant wait to see Killzone 3 The upscaled 3d images also look ace (well on most channels using Sky anyway), not as tarted as made out by early reviewers
