Although ceremonial duties are an important part of Army history and tradition, all soldiers undertaking this role are highly trained soldiers who also play an important part in military operations worldwide.

Household Cavalry

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals. It provides the Queen's Life Guard and the Sovereign's Escort on state occasions.

King's Troop

The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery fire Royal Salutes in Hyde Park on special occasions and provide a gun carriage and team of black horses for state and military funerals.

Corps of Army Music

The Corps of Army Music has 22 regular bands plus the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas available to support the Armed Forces and associated charities anywhere in the world.

Household Division Bands

Every Foot Guards Regiment in the Household Division has a Military Band. All part of the Corps of Army Music, they occupy a unique position in the ceremonial scene.
