Meet Taruni Sachdev, the star kid who has done over 20 commercials
|
MOST OF us might have seen the vivacious kid who accompanies Karisma Kapoor in the Rasna commercial saying "I I Love Love You You Rasna Rasna Cola Cola," re-emphasising the cola effect of the product. But not many of us know that this chirpy kid has a lot more talent than just repeating the tag line for the ad.
Taruni Sachdev is one of the youngest brand ambassadors of Rasna's Ek Ka Do and cola flavour.
As she walks in with her trademark smile intact, almost every face lights up in delight.
Famous at the age of five with 20 commercials to her credit, the bright kid poses with ease before the camera and doesn't wipe off that `do-you-want-me-to-look-more-cute' look on her face. "It comes naturally to her," says her mom Geeta Sachdev.
Taruni was introduced to the silver screen through `Bol Baby Bol,' a series for STAR Plus.
From there, the following two years were hectic for this star kid— VIP Luggage, Colgate, ICICI Bank, Saffola, and many more commercials made her an instant celebrity among friends.
"There was no such hype about her acting in commercials until the Rasna ad happened. I guess it was because she got an opportunity to act with Karisma Kapoor," smiles Taruni's mother.
But if you think that she is `just' five, you are underestimating the energy and spontaneity of this kid. "Her ability to follow instructions is one of the reasons why we gave her pictures to modelling agencies. " says Geeta Sachdev.
And this year, when Mudra Communications was looking for a kid to act with Karisma Kapoor, Taruni fit the bill right away.
Peeping across an array of glasses filled with different flavours of the drink and smiling shyly at her mother sitting in the audience, she says, "I love Karisma aunty."
Ask this kindergarten student of Avabhai Petit Girls Higher Secondary School, Mumbai, if she likes acting or going to school and she is quick to respond that she loves acting, "I want to become an actress when I grow up. I have already acted in a movie. A Malayalam movie," she smiles.
Apart from commercials, she now has a Malayalam thriller, `Vellinakshathram' in her kitty.
"That's it. No more films for her now. She is going to first standard and I don't want her to get distracted from studies," her mom says with a stern face.
As for Taruni, who doesn't seem to be affected by the limelight, she is just enjoying her time here.
