From Dust video is impressive

See Ubisoft's amazing download game in action

Ubisoft's put out a gameplay video for From Dust, the 360, PS3 and PC download game described as a mix of populous and Black & White.

Created by Another World creator, Eric Chahi the game was first announced at E3 back in June, and settled on its new name at GamesCom earlier this week.

It's a good thing it's put the video out as well, because it means we don't have to spend too long telling you how frickin' impressive it looked behind closed doors at GamesCom.

Watch the video and share your thoughts below.

Spending one long is far more preferable.

Looks ver interesting. Do you design the world then put people in it? Do you relinquish control of the planet to control the humnas or what?

Looks good though.

Yes the physics are very impressive but whats the point?? Is there any kind of objective??

And this is a downloadable Game Shocked ?

Loving the style, loving the look of it and I cant wait to try it out.

Win. Win. Win.

Shocked Wow. I'm gob smacked! That looked incredible- sort of like an advanced Far Cry map editor of sorts. And that's a download game?

That video was based around the tech- I can't wait to see how they incorporate it into the game. I'm all for mad, cartoony beat 'em ups like Castle Crashers- but this along with the likes of Limbo are a refreshing change of pace.

Could ask that of a lot of games in truth...

This looks awesome, one of those games that you can just mess around with and lose yourself in for a while... really impressive visually. Download games really are becoming the hot bed for interesting concepts and ideas.

God Bless XBLA/PSN. Limbo, Braid, Shadow Complex, Lara Croft, Trials HD and titles like Hydrophobia, Shank and this incoming, it's not going to be long before these titles begin to start rivalling some retail releases.

As this was just a tech demo I'm sure when more actual game details released then the objective/point will be made clear too.

Kinect & move compatability would be good for the console versions.
Richyrich316 on 20 Aug '10
I'd forgotten about this. Looks great, would like to know what the actual game entails.

Looks like interesting ideas and concepts really do have a home in smaller scale downloaded releases.

I would really love a new Unirally if Rockstar are listening?

Now THAT'S impressive. I hope they have a LBP-style sharing system, it'd be great to see what some people come up with.

Also, what's with the growth rate on those plants? That's one helluva lot of Miracle-Grow!
