Largest rattan companies in the Mekong meet for first time
Ho Chi Min City – WWF’s Rattan Programme brought together 15 rattan companies from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam to Vietnam Lifestyle that held from 22-26 April. The Vietnam Lifestyle is the most famous International Home Decor and Gifts Fair in Vietnam, targets at rattan end-users retailers wholesalers, traders and processors regionally and internationally.

The first Field Guide of the Rattans of Cambodia, a contribution to sustainable rattan management
Phnom Penh, 17 March: Today, the Cambodian Government’s Forestry Administration, General Department of
Administration for Nature Conservation and Protection, Mr Khou Eang Hourt - the author of the first Field Guide
of the Rattans of Cambodia - and WWF are proud to launch the result of more than two years of research on
rattan in Cambodia. The guide contributes an important step towards sustainable rattan management as it
describes the diversity, ecology and characters of rattan.
First rattan association of Cambodia, a step to sustainable rattan industry
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Eleven rattan small and medium enterprise owners and other community rattan
processors from Phnom Penh and provinces meet on September 28th to officially form Cambodia’s first rattan
association. The agenda will focus on election of a management committee and discussion over conditions and
roles of current and future memberships.
WWF and Lao Govt. sign an agreement to push for sustainable rattan industry
A new plan for the sustainable production of rattan in Laos and the Mekong region was signed today in Vientiane by the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) and WWF.
