My husband and I were going to the Sherbrooke metro station after dinner on Duluth St. when we saw black, billowing smoke. We paused to look, and saw that something big was on fire, and the fire was getting more intense. You could see burning ash and embers shoot out, and the fire was getting noticeably bigger because I could start to feel the heat, even a block away. I took out my camera to take a few pictures, but since the fire was getting brighter and bigger, we opted not to go closer. Passers-by, cyclists, and cars continued to walk towards the blaze as if they were strolling on a regular summer evening, as fire truck after fire truck screamed by. As we walked away to the metro station, the streets lights flickered out. This is the view from Rue Berri, 1 block from blaze at 9:03pm.
