A goal by defender Luca Bellisomo in stoppage time gave the Vancouver Whitecaps a shocking 2-1 victory over the Impact Wednesday night at Saputo Stadium.

It's payback time for the Impact. The Impact takes on the RailHawks at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., tonight looking to avenge a 2-0 loss to Carolina at Saputo Stadium May 30.

Impact coach Marc Dos Santos took no joy in the fact that his team had more scoring chances than Miami FC in their USSF Division 2 game Sunday.

A crowd of 47,861, clearly in party mode and obviously aware of how superbly the beautiful game is played elsewhere in the world, witnessed Italian champion AC Milan conquer an international friendly 4-1 over the Impact at Olympic Stadium Wednesday night.

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf said it “breaks your heart” to see a fan tackled to the ground by security guards for wanting to get close to his soccer idol.

The Impact didn’t use having played nine games in a month as an excuse for a sub-par performance on Sunday.

There hasn't been real grass inside Olympic Stadium since the 1976 Olympics, but that's about to change.

Golf Dorval's 'father figure' Dagenais calls it a career

The image of Maurice Dagenais in a chef's hat serving hotdogs off the barbecue to dozens of youngsters at lunch during one of the Future Links junior golf sessions he began at Golf Dorval years ago is one that will stay with me forever.

The Warmup

That ESPN is devoting an hour-long show to a 30-second announcement about where free agent NBA superstar LeBron James will sign isn't surprising. We've almost come to expect that in a world where reality shows have become reality. It was Team LeBron's idea, and they've lined up sponsors to ante up money that will go to charity. Why they've chosen the smarmy Jim Gray to do the quickie announcement "interview" is a mystery, though. No doubt this will work out better than ESPN's reality-show collaboration with disgraced slugger Barry Bonds a few years ago. That was a disaster.
