Brasserie Le Manoir, where the HIO crew will greet site visitors and hecklers this Thursday evening.

• Pat Hickey on Thursday's HIO event
Since hockey season must almost be over, Habs Inside/Out is idling back a bit. But a “team dinner” for those of us who keep the site afloat seemed unfulfilling without the participation of the HIO users in the Montreal area who often ask where they can find us to talk hockey, so…
HIO founding members Dave Stubbs and Mike Boone, joined by Gazette hockey beat writer Pat Hickey and HIO contributor Kevin Mio, plan to break buns and sip a pint (singular?) on the West Island this coming Thursday, July 15 at Brasserie Le Manoir, at the southwest corner of Hymus and St. Jean boulevards in Pointe-Claire.
We'll then hang around to chat Habs with anyone (18 and older ONLY) who wishes to drop in to join us from 7:30 pm until whenever. Spread the word. It will be extremely informal and we’ll not be buying chow or beer beyond our own – we’ve got new owners and we’re not pushing the expense-report envelope yet.
The AMT's 200, 202 and 203 buses stop almost at the door. Please plan your transportation accordingly.
• PLEASE NOTE: If you're pretty sure you'll join us, let us know with a comment below; we'd like to advise Le Manoir on Thursday morning so they can prepare some space for us. And please, use Comments on this post only to discuss this event; use other posts for general chatter.
ill be there!!! cant wait
I WANT TO MEET MIKE BOONE!! LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!!
BARBARA DUNIZ GREATEST HABS FAN
Well, it's no U2 concert ... but it will probably wind up being way more fun! Boone - I'm coming all the way for St. John's for this! Someone has to represent the Newfies and it sure ain't gonna be Michael Ryder. I'll buy the first round, but I'm gonna need a photo with the crew to bring back for my buddy Brad Yetman (huge HIO fan) just to have over him.
I'm RSVPing for 3 - Me, my girlfriend (she doesn't know it yet) and my long time friend, and Montreal native, Danny.
Can't wait!!
-Robert
WOW that place is still open! I used to hang out there 35+ years ago. The old CFOX was across the street.
Unfortunately it is now a 6 1/2 hour drive have a great time and leave your keys at home.
Ah, CFOX. I worked there, summer of 1975, a few months before a career in newspapers called. I produced Ted Tevan's show for a few months and spun an ovenight disco (!) show on Saturday nights. Here I am in master control a few minutes after 5 am, probably cueing up a Donna Summer EP. Gruesome. The music and me.
Don't miss Marc (Mais Oui!) Denis's superb CFOX tribute page. It's here.

Were you a local West Islander or just lucked out. I remember running into Gord Jr and Joe Cannon either at "the Bra" or the tavern downstairs from the station
A native. My late father, Hal, was in Montreal radio for many years and I followed him, for a time, into that business. But since then my life has spiralled downward until I've found myself here...

I'm coaching my daugter's football (soccer) team in Ile Perrot but maybe I'll be able to swing by after for a bit. It would be nice to put some faces to names.
Cheers
im working until 9 that night but my coworker and i were planning on stopping by to get a drink there afterwards before i found out you'd all be there..hope it's ok to stop by and say hi :)
Gosh ...
Just reinforces my mind set,
Adios Buckoos, have your little club, emphasis on little, or small.
i will be there
All work and no Hockey makes Kyle a dull boy Hockey Lives Here
Havn't been to the Manoir in a long time,as a matter of fact havn't been to any Brasserie in a long time. Really tough to find one in B.C.
I could really go for a "real" smoked meat sandwich right now.
oh oh
We interrupt our programming for a special announcement:
Radio Free Timo will be broadcasting live Thursday evening on July 15 from the Tribal Eye Tattoo parlor in St. Albans to coincide with the HIO mini-summit. Hear the real Habs news from the Prohabariat on RFT not the "state run progaganda" of these pompous Glorieuxgois from the cushy confines of their elitist Le Manoir venue.
This is Radio Free Timo signing off!
What is this stupidity. I don't know what's worse. Endless line combinations, reading variations of the old Cournoyer12, or this stupid Timo garbage.
If he acted like a seemingly normal person, maybe he wouldn't have gotten banned. Maybe him getting banned was better for his own mental health anyways.
Must be Yeats. Who else?
Just another of your periodic gems. Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
What's your beef with the site now? They ruined your idea of free speech? Get over it.
The elitist Glorieuxgois will never suppress the Prohabariat forever. Timonists of HIO unite!!!
Your posts are the proverbial oily discharge. Very infrequent, yet entirely discomforting when they occur.
You must be so pissed that I thought of this handle before you did. ;-) We make a good 1-2 punch though I gotta admit.
Not at all! I originated the concept of "Full Breezer," but was very flattered when others embraced it and brought it to its full potential.
Hey Dave,
From everyone at the manoir on friday night, thanks for the shoutout, I forgot to post it on the other thread.
Just like friday, I can't wait to talk habs with some of the biggest habs fans in the city!
See you thursday.
-------------------- Habs Hockey Nothing Else Matters --CH--
Habs have sacked Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Lorne Goldenberg according to RDS, the previous S&C coordinator left the team last season to do his own work. Team is now going to get a 3rd S&C guy in 3 years, how about a little consistency from the team on physical fitness?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Might as well pack it in then.
maybe he was halaks butt buddy
Terrible news, just devasting to the team.
Just got word that Crudessence will be catering the event. "Try the tofu!" - BGL
Anyone else find it curoius that the first four letters of this natural lifestyle/vegan restaurant is "Crud"?

Seeing as I will be working at the Holiday Inn just up the street, I'll probably join you guys once I've closed the place down. At least, I hope you'll still be there past 10
Sounds great. See you there!
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
You'll definitely get a few more of the boys out!

Thanks :) From the looks of your profile and your current location, I'm guessing I won't be seeing you there. I quite like your quote, by the by.
"I know you're wise beyond your years, but do you ever get the fear that your perfect verse is just a lie you tell yourself to help you get by?"
Arriving in Montreal from NL at 5:00 P.M...supposed to be in Lancaster for supper but this sounds hard to pass up!
"If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." (anon)
I was ready to drive the 401 to the West Island until my son phones and tells me he is visiting here with my unseen yet new grandaughter, Thursday afternoon.
What bad timing. Have a great dinner and visit, sounds like a fun night.
As you can see grandkids are the BEST
Conratulations Ian. Grandchildren are the greatest.
Just to let you all know, EVERYONE must be 18 years old or older. If you don't look like Dave's age group, please bring ID if not 2 pieces of ID.
Cheers! See you there. I wonder if Mr. Lach will stop by?
You're going to love my nuts!
EVERYONE must be 18 years old or older
In Montreal? I don't think so.
Is the kid that trashed Hickey's car invited?
are you kidding? he's the guest of honor.
You guy's need to have a mini-summit here in South Florida, guaranteed good times.
So this is where BALLS holds their super secret meetings!
This Friday on RADIO FREE TIMO: Challenging The System: How Peter Laviolette Lived to Tell the Tale -- hosted by Tony242.
lmao
Is it true that there will be a surprise guest appearance from Timo.
No! After crossing the border in Vermont, he has decided to seek asylum in the Lower 48.
What and give up his freedom, safety and prosperity? This after the sacrifices his family made to escape their native land and come here.
Timo! Say it ain't so!
FREE TIMO
He actually needs real help now :)
I'll try my darndest to be there (family commitments and all that..)
If I'm not, hoist a pint (or three...) for me!
XXIV...and counting
I'll be there in spirit boys! Have a few pints on me.
RADIO FREE TIMO: Where every shot at the Habs is on goal!
I'd love to go! Im 50/50 on confirmation though. All depends on funds.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Ex all around, on me!
That's unlikely. There is no Molson product sold at Le Manoir.

Did he have to sell the Manoir to buy the team?!
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
A Brew Pub? Excellent Dave, sure wish I could go and hoist a few with all of you. Microbrewed beer is the BEST imho.
A brewpub only if you consider Anheuser-Busch InBev products microbrewed…
Le Manoir sounds like a nice place.
Stubbs =1 Molson =0
Bettman: 10!
Owned, children!
hows the nipples i transplanted on you?
Great, thanks!
EDIT: Spoke too soon! One of the pesky buggers just fell off.
Better than that face transplant. Yikes.
nah guy its all naturel
The way we like it!
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
Are trolls allowed to participate in the micro-summit?
Only if they identify themselves, so we can stuff them into their lockers.
I'd join you all but I'm hanging out with Larry Robinson on his boat at its undisclosed location.
cool story bro
Booner, that ... kinda ... sounds ... like a repressed childhood memory.
I'll be looking forward to that chapter in your memoir. Just make sure to send me an autographed copy.
Thanks!
;-)
its not under a bridge so im guessing no
Troll racist!
Hey buddy, I suggest you go hang out with Mel Gibson. I hear he's a huge Habs fan.
My take on Mel Gibson is that he is not racist. He's projecting his women issues to all. They are not doing it for him. Drinking only amplifies the anger. That is my psychological profile of him :-)
nah nah nah
Why does all the cool stuff happen in MTL after I move away? Away in 07-08, Conference Title and 2nd-round of the playoffs. Back home, imploding season and swept from the playoffs. Move away, Conference Finals and multiple missed opportunities for meeting players and Habs I/O people.
Clearly, I must stay away from Montreal for the good of the Canadiens and the fanbase at large. You can all thank me when the Dynasty run begins in 10-11.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
count me in so I can pester Mr Stubbs about goalie gear!
Naah, just want to enjoy a Guinny...seriously...and then ask If I can name my Ball Hockey team the Stubby Booners...
Anyone coming up from Vermont want to carpool?
Bollocks!!
I'm way out of town until mid-Aug.
Have to catch you the next time. Have 7 pints and a hot chicken sandwich for me.
---Hope Springs Eternal---
Advise?
More like warn.
"Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!"
I wish I lived in Montreal. Toronto sucks.
No man, Calgary sucks.
Micro Summit to the Micro Summit in Toronto? I might just be down of that.
Ditto! Kilgour's, anyone?

I'll likely be there plus 1. You'll recognize me as the smiley guy in my avatar, sans shades.
Maybe I can get Dave to agree to let me interview him. :-O

I'll try my best to pass by around 8:30 or 9.
I'm guessing that's the "cool" time to pass by, not too early/not too late?
"These head movies make my eyes rain" -Simple Jack
I got AK at under 64.5 pts, with Triple X and Tom Nickle.
9?
Hickey is passed out, Stubbs is at the Lakeshore ER and Boone's been taken into custody.
But Mio is buying till midnight.
I might be buying, but I will be using your Amex, Boone.
That's when it all gets interesting!
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
You figured out my plan, Booner...
I was gonna wait until you guys were all gone to stirr up some stuff. Thinking of wearing an "I Love PG+BG" t-shirt, with "Price" on the back. After a few rounds, someone was surely gonna sart something.
And Mio's the youngest one, the rookie. He wouldn't be able to control a bunch of crazy/drunk Habs fans. Heck, it's impossible to control a sober Habs fan!

As it's a five-minute jaunt for me, I have no excuse not to be there.
See you around the appointed time.
