These are the only games this year that are away on Fri. and home on Sat. Lets have your input for best possible date and I will do my best to secure as many tickets as possible for us.

Some of you are going to try to get your own. We need to confirm the weekend and start to put it all together, including our proposed charity hockey game.!

I will try to get the same deal for us at the hotel as last year.  location and price was appreciated by most last year I believe.

Again this year there will be our private Friday meet and great and hockey game on big screen at Hurley's Pub again.

Bell Center tour Saturday morning.

Pre game meal and fund raising raffle at the Baton Rouge.

Sat night game at the Bell Center.

After game celebration at Hurley's Pub.

I'm in if there's a ticket available, I promise not to jersey anyone over a goalie argument.

Hey Ian, I am in, as always. Just the one ticket, as JMac will be home with the new baby.

I have not confirmed tickets as yet with the Bell Center. But the only date that will work this year is November 5th and 6th. By the number of e-mails that I have, it looks like I'll need about 100 tickets.

Please don't e-mail me, but you can leave your intent on the Summit page and check into that page for on going updates. Also leave your questions on that page.

In line for tickets first will be former attendees to past Summits and people that participated in most events including the charity raffle. And of coarse all those who bought me a beer in past years.

There will only be one game ticket available for each regular posters of HIO and one guest. But everyone else can participate in all of our activities.

This year I will only be accepting money orders to pay for your tickets. No cheques or gold please.

More later on, keep checking in here and leaving your comments.

At this point, I'm okay with any dates looking at my calender, November wouldn't put me into any real trouble with school, January was an original seperate trip I had planned anyway.

Either weekend in nov. works for me ian.

Showey - is your wife coming with you again to see the game?  I'd rather sit beside her again instead of all these other nutbars from H I/O!!!

Ian...26th and 27th Nov are the only bad ones for me...our team has Silver Sticks in PA...

Doug

It looks more like the Nov. 5 & 6th Doug. I will let you know when I confirm game tickets.

How is the Charity Hockey game shaping up.? Maybe some of the Mtl. HIO guys can come up with ice if Brossard is not available.

habaholic68NJ's picture

That is better Ian as most of us in the USA will not make Nov 26/27 because it is Thanksgiving and we must spend time with the family.

Ian Cobb's picture

That was a large piece of info that I was missing, thanks 68NJ.

24 Cups's picture

Thanks for the heads-up about the dates for the American Thanksgiving.  That pretty well makes it the first week of November.

I'm there for any of them...

But please guys, try not to vote for the Buffalo game. They're such a boring team to watch, lol..

Mike...Any chance you could help us land some ice for the charity game?

It looks like about 20 posters are interested to include some goalies.  We just need someone with hockey connections to get us ice.  Player entry fees will pay for it...preferably a rink with Wifi.  About and hour and a half of ice time.

You had mentioned that before you might be able to help us.  Probably some mid-morning ice on Saturday depending on the weekend chosen.

Wifi? Good idea, I can liveblog it since I can't skate.

Although Koivu Night would be awesome, agree with going with one of the November dates to make things potentially easier for the out-of-towners.

Leaning towards Ottawa for two reasons:

(1) Haven't seen the KovyFloat live for some time now.

(2) Really don't want Chuck to be inconvenienced.

SmartDog's picture

I agree with SeriousFan.   Koivu at the Bell Centre would be awesome.

--------- Pleks is back - the goat came through on this one.

24 Cups's picture

Rob - Besides the weather factor, there is also the issue that Koivu's return will put a premium on available seats for that game.  We would all love to see the guy but going with the two dates in November gives Ian some leverage with ticket requests.  It basically doubles our chances.

Novotel, Hurley's and Baton Rouge were great last year so why bother changing a good thing.  The only small catch was BR's anal behaviour on seating arrangements.  That needs to be addressed this year.  We require the tables down the sides as well as in the middle of the lower room.

I also have kept a list of guys (Chuck, Punkster, Andrew, Showey, Doug, Bryan, AK46) who owe me beers.  After all, I am on pension.

Ian just mentioned that the first set of dates is the only realistic option after speaking with the Bell Centre, I'll have to work out Koivu's return to the Bell myself.

Hi Ian. I'm changing my dates to November also.I thought of the fans coming from out of town.Weather in January could be nasty.

Ian, I prefer either one of the November weekends. Steve mentions the weather factor as well and it's something to consider for our long distance members. Looking forward to it!

FREE TIMO!

p - Your looking forward to hearing Stevie K say ...... in the entry draft in 2003 if we had ........... BTW, yesterday SK24 promised not to mention Getzlaf and Carter anymore but we both know he is liable to have a senior moment or two on those summit nights that he is always first to bed, Crusty from Stuffyville comes to Montreal to sleep, what a party animal.

Chuck's picture

I'd personally choose to see the Ottawa game, as I already buy tickets to see the Hab/Sabres in Buffalo. So early November gets my vote.

Ian you are really gambling by choosing the January date.  Many of us drive long distances to get to Montreal and you would be bringing us down right in the middle of winter.  If there is a major storm, we would lose the money for our tickets and at least the first night for our hotel room.  It's kin dof irresponsible to take that gamble with people's safety.

I have attended every Summit and I can assure everyone it doesn't matter in the least which team we play.  It's all about the complete experience.  Going with the early November dates assures us of a much better time.

Ian Cobb's picture

I agree with you Steve. I was pointing out that this year there is only 3 times that we play on the Fri. and home Sat. night.

Tickets availability will dictate which game in Nov we get.

I like the JANUARY dates I would like to see Koivu play.

Habs Fan 4 Ever & Ever Amen.

My preference is more for the Nov dates, Jan is the busiest time at my work, but I might be able to get the Friday off. Of the Nov dates the 5 and 6 would be my first choice.

habsperspective's picture

Remember, remember the 5th of November.  Its my Birthday!!!!

Sounds like a good weekend in Montreal for me!

SeriousFan09's picture

I was already considering heading down to MTL to see the Ducks play if Koivu was still on the roster, if he is a Duck, I'd vote for the 21st/22nd of January. Or even if he isn't, not terribly enthused about watching the Trashers without Kovalchuk in their lousy arena and Sabres are always a bore to watch.

I am kind of leaning towards The November dates myself.
