Nathan Rosenberg
Member, Steering Committee
Senior Fellow, SIEPR

Nathan Rosenberg is the Fairleigh S.Dickinson, Jr. Professor of Public Policy in the Department of Economics. His research interests focus on the economics of technological change, with special attention paid to the role played by scientific research in shaping the rate and direction of technological change.

His current research has focused on technological change in the chemical industry and in the delivery of medical care, as well as the role played by universities in facilitating technological change in the "high tech" industries.

His recent books include:

  • Exploring the Black Box; Technology and the Pursuit of Economic Growth (with David Mowry)
  • The Emergence of Economic Ideas

Professor Rosenberg's teaching interests include the role of science and technology in economic growth and comparative economic history.
