That's certainly how it all appeared Tuesday as Whistler's Ashleigh McIvor raced through a Cypress Mountain blizzard -- that's right, a blizzard on Cypress Mountain -- whipped the world and won the gold medal in the women's 2010 Olympic ski cross event.

Brad and Terri Serwa watched their daughter take part in history Tuesday as the first-ever medals were won in an Olympic women's ski cross competition. Gutsy 20-year-old Kelsey Serwa finished just off the podium in 5th place, while her Canadian teammate Ashleigh McIvor captured gold.
