GOP knows: Gaffes don't take holidays

RNC Chairman Michael Steele has had what a generous person might term an interesting tenure.

There are the Daily Caller stories about RNC staffers charging the Republican National Committee $2,000 for "meals" at Voyeur, an L.A. topless, lesbian and bondage-themed nightclub and Steele wanting to buy a jet.

He called Rush Limbaugh -- whom some party members see as a God -- "ugly and divisive."

In his latest career-threatening episode, Steele said of the war in Afghanistan,"this was a war of Obama's choosing. This was not something that the United States had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in."

The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol called on Steele to resign Friday. I understand why, but I shudder at the thought of who might replace him.

Three words that send a chill down the spine: Chairwoman Sarah Palin.
