Hori opened up pre-orders yesterday for its reissue of the Twin Sticks EX peripheral. Only it turns out it's not actually a reissue.

According to the manufacturer, the new peripheral, which it refers to under the tentative name of "Twin Sticks EX Virtual On Force Version" will be basically the same as the Twin Sticks EX peripheral that was released for Virtual On Oratiro Tangram last year. However, the top design is being changed.

Unfortunately, Hori did not provide a look at the new design.

The original Twin Sticks EX peripheral.

In addition to the same basic design, the new version of the Twin Sticks device will share the price of its predecessor. To recreate the Virtual On experience in the home, you're going to have to spend ¥30,000.

The rules for pre-ordering are the same this time. You'll need to put your name down for preliminary pre-orders at Hori.com. The device will go into production only if Hori receives enough orders.

If the device ends up going into production, you'll need to make payment in order to finalize the order.

Pre-orders are being accepted through June 30 at 17:00. The device will ship this Winter, timed with Force's release.

Hori is allowing buyers to pre-order up to four units. This is up from the two limit that was in place for the original, presumably because Force supports four player play.

Interested parties should visit the Twin Sticks EX pre-order site.
