Record of Agarest War 2's Soul Breed System Has Perks

Record of Agarest War 2, like its predecessor, has a system called "Soul Breed." Under this system, the "soul" of the main character in one generation of the storyline carries over to the main character of the next generation.

The "Breed" part of the system's name comes from the fact that the next generation main character is your child. You'll get to "breed" with one of many heroines.

To make the best kid -- that is, the character with the highest abilities -- you'll need to raise your favor with the heroines during dialogue sequences and event scenes. Higher favor adds bonuses to your child's parameters.

There are also other benefits for higher favor. It looks like the game's art changes based off how a given heroine feels about you.

I don't think the game is actually rewarding you with nudity, as they both look pretty naked to me. Idea Factory says that the image at top represents mutual love between the man and woman. The girl below represents strong rule -- someone is dominating someone.

In addition to the Soul Breed system, the Record of Agarest War sequel retains the Extend Turn Battle system from its predecessor. This has been powered up with "Ultimate Strike" attacks which cause damage to all your foes, special skills known as "Extend Skills," and the new "Formation System."
