Information

Link and Zelda rush over to the annual Picori festival - a celebration of an ancient legend that said tiny people named the Picori (or Minish) equipped a hero of legend with a mystical sword and a piece of the Triforce. During the festivities a mysterious swordsman named Vaati wins the swordfighting contest and gains access to Hyrule Castle for the festivities. However, Vaati turns out to be an evil sorcerer, and he turns Zelda to stone and searches in vain for the 'golden light' of the Triforce piece. Link (being the son of a Smithy) is charged with reforging the blade of the Picori to stop Vaati's evil plans.

Along the way you meet a strange creature named Ezlo who has been transformed into a bird-like hat. Once you save him from monsters he gives you access to the miniscule world of the Picori.

The whole game plays out over six dungeons in total, with a wealth of things to do in the overworld between each. Not only are there hundreds of characters to meet and secret places to find, Link can also shrink down to the size of a Picori and explore the world in miniature. Being a child he is able to meet the Picori and visit their secret homes around the world.

The dungeons are a blend of puzzle solving and battling enemies. Two of the dungeons are set out for Picori-sized people, and so even a standard enemy can become a towering boss character. As the game progresses you will also gain access to new weapons that will help you solve puzzles, from the magical Gust Jar that can suck up enemies and help you travel around on water, to the Picori Sword itself - allowing you to split into multiple Links to hit switches and attack enemies.

During your adventure you can also collect Kinstones. These Picori-made relics can be joined with another character's Kinstone, triggering a special event somewhere in the game's world. They can make treasure chests appear, make giant beanstalks grow into the sky, introduce new minigames to play, and so on. Collecting them will help you get stronger as you access more secret areas and gather more items.
