The Asian Indoor Games is another multi-sport variant established from the Asian Games by the OCA. The first games were held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2005 and athletes from all over the Asian continent competed.

These Games were developed to give the opportunity to compete in sports that are not recognised as an Olympic sport or included in the Asian and Winter Games. They sports programs of the Asian Indoor Games have great appeal to spectators and are normally heavily broadcasted as a result.
