Followed by the multiple failures occurred to International Submarine Cables in SouthEast Asia on 09-AUG due to underwater seismic activities occurred off Taiwan area, totally five (5) major international submarine cable routes like APCN2,SMW3 were hardly affected.

Due to the failure, all the telecommunications to areas including Taipei, Japan, Korea, Singaporeand US are hardly affected directly from Asian submarine cables communications.

China Telecom has immediately activated its overall emergency procedures for the restoration of the affected backbone routes and customer services in a very shortest timeframe. Right now China Telecom has successfully re-routed some of the traffic to restoration routes.

Currently some cable repair ships already sail out for repairing actions.  Due to the bad weather and unexpected underwater seismic activities, it will take some times to fully repair the cables.

China Telecom is working with its best effort to recover the services. The Spokesman of China Telecom also express his sorry for the inconvenience caused by this multiple cable failures.
