Piedmont and Liguria is are the culinary inspiration for this always-busy restaurant headed by co-owners Umberto Gibin and Staffan Terje. Terje has a passion for Italian food and makes everything in-house. Under Gibin the service is as good as the food. The interior features several seating areas -- there's an open kitchen, bar, a dining room with loftlike ceilings and another more intimate area under the mezzanine. Earlier this year the duo opened Barbacco next door, serving equally good food at less expensive prices.
Specialties: Breadsticks; agnolotti dal plin (stuffed with roasted veal and cabbage); pasta with pork sugo; "ugly but good" hazelnut cookies.
Lunch 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri., dinner 5:30-10 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., until 11 p.m. Fri.-Sat.
