Perry Hoffman is living his legacy at Etoile in Domaine Chandon. He's the grandson of Sally Schmitt, the original owner of the French Laundry, and he can remember spending time helping her in the kitchen. In his own kitchen now, the 26-year-old chef is creating memories for people visiting the Napa Valley. Part of the allure is the setting; diners walk across a bridge over a pond with manicured wooded grounds and a collection of mushroom sculptures, and into a casually elegant dining room. The scalloped ceiling looks like it's made from wine barrels, with windows overlooking vineyards. You can order a la carte, but indulge in the flexible tasting menu.
