The New American menu includes a large dose of the South and New Orleans, thanks to chef Mitchell Rosenthal's time spent cooking in that region. When that style mixes with fresh California ingredients, the menu is as dynamic as the interior. The restaurant attracts leaders in politics and the arts, making the crowd an eclectic blend. Many people drop into the bar for a bite, or reserve a favorite table in the dining room of the century-old building that has brick walls and industrial windows. Co-owner Doug Washington presides over the front of the house, dividing his time between Town Hall's sister properties, Salt House and Anchor & Hope.
