Crispin Grey-Johnson, Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Gambia to the UN, to Speak at Adelphi University

Adelphi University's International Initiatives Committee will host a lecture by the Ambassador of the Republic of the Gambia, Crispin Grey-Johnson on Thursday, February 24, 2005 in the Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. The lecture, "Beyond Conflict: The UN and the Challenges of Post-Conflict Reconstruction," will begin at 12:30 PM, with a reception immediately following.
Ambassador Crispin Grey-Johnson has served the United Nations and the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of the Gambia in many capacities. His career at the United Nations included service as the Coordinator for the UN's program of technical assistance to Africa. Ambassador Grey-Johnson left the UN in 1996 and served as his country's Ambassador to the United States and with concurrent accreditation to Brazil and Venezuela.
The International Initiatives Committee (IIC) is a campus-wide group of faculty, administrators, and students charged with infusing courses and campus events with internationalized content. The IIC allows the University to offer dynamic programs such as its acclaimed Ambassador Series in intimate settings so students, faculty, and the public have the opportunity to hear first-hand, global perspectives on issues of international concern.
