Benham Falls Day Use / Trailhead
Deschutes National Forest - Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District
Benham Falls is a scenic cascading water fall west of Lava Lands Visitor Center
on the Deschutes River, or the "River of Falls" as French explorers
named it. Two trails start at the parking lot. A short interpretive trail goes
upstream and deals with the railroad logging industry that flourished in the
Central Oregon during the first half of the 20th century. The other trail goes
down stream to Benham Falls and follows the old mainline Shevlin-Hixon railroad
grade.
