(05-28) 21:09 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco police are trying to determine what killed a man found dead in the middle of Octavia Boulevard early Friday.

The 24-year-old victim, identified as Emile Llewellyn of San Francisco, was found in the Octavia median strip near Market Street at about 4 a.m., said Officer Boaz Mariles, a police spokesman. Mariles said a skateboard and unspecified car parts were found at the scene. However, police do not know whether the cause of death was a hit-and-run accident, homicide or something else, he said.

"We're looking at this with a wide-angle lens," Mariles said.
