The Consortium of U.S. Volcano Observatories

The Consortium of U.S. Volcano Observatories (CUSVO) is a scientific working group established in 2002 to strengthen interaction and communication among federal, state, and academic representatives of the 5 U.S. volcano observatories. The observatories are: the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO), Cascades Volcano Observatory (CVO), Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, the Long Valley Observatory, and the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory (YVO). The state and academic representatives are: University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys, University of Washington, University of Hawaii, Hilo, University of Utah, Yellowstone National Park. The Consortium enhances scientific and technical coordination on operational and research matters that are of broad, mutual concern among the observatories.
