USGS Jobs and Volunteer Work
The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has the only official volunteer program of all the observatories. Please see the HVO Volunteer Program Page for current oppportunities.
Although the Volcano Hazards Team does not have very many opportunities for full-time, part-time, or volunteer work, there are other USGS programs and Federal Agencies that are hiring. One of the best ways to start working for the USGS is through student employment or a postdoc.

Keep in mind there may be opportunities at other agencies on volcano lands such as the National Park Service and USDA Forest Service.
