Activity for the period September 19 - September 25, 2005:

The realtime computer system detected and located three small earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 3:00 PM on the 18th. Two of the events were located in the Sierra Nevada range to the south of the caldera and the third was located inside the caldera beneath the south moat. All of the events had magnitudes of M<2.0.

The realtime computer system detected and located nine small earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 9:00 AM on the 19th. All of the events were located in the Sierra Nevada range to the south of the caldera. A cluster of eight earthquakes occurred ~19 km (12 miles) SW of Toms Place; three of these had magnitudes above 2.0 (M=2.9 and 2.7). All of the others were magnitude M=2.0 or below.

The realtime computer system detected and located two small earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 9:00 AM on the 20th. A magnitude M=0.9 was located inside the caldera below the resurgent dome and a magnitude M=2.2 earthquake was detected in the Sierra Nevada to the south.

The realtime computer system detected and located one small earthquake in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 8:00 AM on the 21st. The event was located in the Sierra Nevada ~ 13 km (8 miles) west of Toms Place and registered a magnitude of M=2.2.

The realtime computer system detected and located five small earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 9:18 AM on the 22nd. Four events were located in the Sierra Nevada south of the caldera and a fifth was detected in Round Valley near the Owens Gorge. All of the events had magnitudes below M=2.0.

The realtime computer system detected and located just one earthquake in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 8:00 AM on Friday. This was a M=2.0 earthquake at 11:53 PM on the 23rd located in the Sierra Nevada 8 miles SW of Toms Place.

The realtime computer system detected and located two earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 2:10 PM on Saturday. Both events had magnitudes below M=2.0 and were located in the Sierra Nevada west of Toms Place.
