Activity for the period November 7 - 13, 2005:

Updated at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2005:

The realtime computer system detected three small-magnitude earthquakes in the Long Valley region since the last update at 1:00 PM on the November 6. A magnitude M=1.3 occurred in the Sierra Nevada SW of Toms Place, a M=1.1 occurred in the Volcanic Tableland N of Bishop, and a M=2.1 occurred in the Adobe Hills area E of Lee Vining.

Updated at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 8, 2005:

The realtime computer system detected thirteen small-magnitude earthquakes in the Long Valley region since the last update at 10:00 AM on November 7. The earthquakes clustered in three general areas south of the caldera. Seven occurred between Mt Baldwin and Mt Morgan ~ 13 km west-southwest of Toms Place. The largest of these was a magnitude M=2.5. Another four were located east of Grinell Lake ~17 km (11 miles) southwest of Toms Place. The largest of this cluster was a magnitude M=2.9. The remaining two earthquakes (both below magnitude 2.0) were located in the Lake district ~ 5 km (3 miles) southwest of Mammoth Lakes.

Updated at 8:00 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2005:

The realtime computer system did not detect any earthquakes in the Long Valley region since the last update at 12 noon on November 8.

Updated at 9:00 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2005:

The realtime computer system detected and located two small earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 8:00 AM on November 9. Both were located to the south of the caldera in the Sierra Nevada SW of Toms Place. The largest of the two events was a magnitude M=2.4.

Elsewhere in the region, there was a M=2.8 detected in the Volcanic Tableland 13 km (7 miles) ESE of Toms Place and a M=2.3 detected 15 km (8 miles) SSW of Lee Vining in the Ansel Adams Wilderness.

Updated at 12:00 PM, Friday, November 11, 2005:

The realtime computer system detected and located seven small earthquakes in the Long Valley caldera region since the last update at 9:00 AM on November 10. Three M<2.0 earthquakes were detected inside the caldera, two at the base of Mammoth Mountain WNW of Mammoth Lakes and one in the south moat E of town. The other four earthquakes were located in the Sierra Nevada south of the caldera. The largest of these was a magnitude M=2.1 located 17 km (11 miles) SW of Toms Place.
