AC/DC claims the No. 1 spot on the Hot Tours rankings with totals from the Australia/New Zealand leg of its Black Ice World Tour that began back in Oct. 2008 and continues with dates booked through June.  The recent performances Down Under began in New Zealand at Wellington's Westpac Stadium with two shows on Jan. 28 and 30 followed by a single appearance in Auckland at Western Springs Stadium (Feb. 4).  Support was by local New Zealand bands Shihad and The Checks.  Moving on to Australian cities, the band played three nights in Melbourne's Etihad Stadium (Feb. 11, 13, 15) as well as its hometown of Sydney at ANZ Stadium, earning over $29 million (Australian $) at the box office, the top-grossing concert engagement for any act so far this year.  Brisbane's QSAC Stadium (Feb. 25, 27) and the Subiaco Oval in Perth (March 6, 8) hosted the tour for two shows, and the band played one performance at the Adelaide Oval (March 2).  Scoring support slots for the Australian shows were Sydney rockers Wolfmother and Calling All Cars from Melbourne.  Co-promoters for the tour were Garry Van Egmond and Chugg Entertainment.

Country group Rascal Flatts rank second on this week's Hot Tours based on concert grosses at 18 venues from the first quarter of 2010, all reported during the past week.  The concerts from Jan. 15 through March 6 are the most recent leg of the trio's American Living Unstoppable Tour that has grossed over $38 million since beginning back in June 2009 with Darius Rucker as the opening act.  Beginning the year with a two-show stint at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. (Jan 15-16), the award-winning vocal group sold out the arena for both shows bringing in $1.6 million at the box office.  Adding the totals from the 17 additional venues reported this week, the group's 2010 tour grosses total $10.6 million so far with attendance figures topping 159,000.
