How do you corral an obnoxious Phillies fan who suddenly decides to jog around the outfield in the eighth inning?
Zap him like a bug.
One of Philadelphia's Phinest did just that Monday, when he Tasered 17-year-old Steve Consalvi, who had led groundskeepers at Citizens Bank Park on a brief but merry chase during the game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The foolish fan went down like a sack of bricks when zapped.
Some Phillies players covered their faces with their gloves and appeared to be laughing at the wild scene.
Consalvi was later able to walk off the field - with some help - and was charged with criminal trespass.
His dad, Wayne Consalvi, knew it was a bad idea from the start. He tried to talk his son out of the stunt when the younger Consalvi called from the ballpark and boasted about what he was going to do.
Consalvi's mother, Amy Ziegler, apologized for his actions and said he regrets running onto the field.
"It was stupid. It was just absolutely stupid," she said.
But that didn't deter Tuesday night's replay.
A 34-year-old fan ran onto the field at Citizens Bank Park but gave himself up without incident in center field. He was booed by the sellout crowd and charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and narcotics possession.
