Colin Farrell admits it was tough nailing a perfect Irish accent for flick 'Ondine'
Monday, May 3rd 2010, 4:00 AM
You'd think Irish actor Colin Farrell wouldn't worry about nailing his native tongue in his new flick, "Ondine" - but the hunk admits he did have some trepidations.
"I spent most of my childhood watching "TJ Hooker" and "CHiPS" so I was more familiar with an American accent than an Irish one," he said at his movie's opening party at Beba on Thursday night. "This film was one of the hardest accents I've had to do especially because I felt a national obligation not to f--- it up."
And he just about succeeded in not doing so. "The local [Irish] papers said I did 'all right,' " he said with a smile.
Phony Stern caller
A caller claiming to be "Hair" tribe member Paris Remillard phoned into the "Howard Stern Show" last week to discuss everything from the pleasures of kissing Diana DeGarmo onstage every night to getting to see her in the nude.
The problem? Remillard tells us that the caller was an impostor. "The person who claimed to be me grossly misjudged and misrepresented my character," he fumed. "And I do not take this offense lightly."
