Mets turn back Cubs in Ike's debut
The Mets and their fans got a jolt of energy even before Monday night’s game against the Cubs with news of the call-up of prized minor league prospect Ike Davis. Then Davis, Angel Pagan and Jason Bay converted it into victory by keying a five-run seventh as the Mets prevailed 6-1.
St. John's hires Warriors assistant
Rico Hines, the Golden State Warriors' assistant for player development the last four season, has been hired as an assistant coach by St. John's. Hines was part of the UCLA program for five seasons under new St. John's coach Steve Lavin.

Ike Davis gets call-up from Mets
Ike Davis originally was in Monday's lineup for Triple-A Buffalo's home matinee against the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees, but the first-base prospect was a late scratch. He will be called up by the Mets in time for their homestand opener.
