The Air Force Reserve Command's 44th Fighter Group officially stood up at Holloman April 9, 2010, with an activation ceremony and passing of the historic group's guidon.
On April 9, 2010, military history will once again be made in New Mexico as one of the most revered fighter squadrons of World War II makes Holloman its new home.

The 27th Fighter Squadron changed commanders during a ceremony here March 5 in the squadron hangar.
Maj. Michael D. "BOK" Schaner, 149th Fighter Squadron Weapons Officer, acting 27th Fighter Squadron Weapons Officer and F-22 Raptor pilot, was selected as the F-22 Outstanding Graduate for the elite United States Air Force Weapons School.
Holloman AFB maintainers launched their F-22 Raptors into the near-cloudless skies over southern Nevada Feb. 22 kicking off Red Flag10-3, an advanced aerial combat exercise where air crews from the U.S. and other allied nations train in realistic aerial war scenarios.

F-22 engine shop reopens after renovations

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Feb. 12, celebrating the opening of the completely renovated engine shop which includes more than 30,000 square feet of space and major upgrades.
The Air Force is spending hundreds of billions of dollars on two fighter jets that probably will never be used to support troops on the ground in Iraq or Afghanistan.

8th FS flagship arrives

The 8th Fighter Squadron received their first of 20 F-22 Raptors on the afternoon of December 21.
After completing another first for the F-22A Raptor, 27th Fighter Squadron pilots and aircraft returned from 40-day deployment to South-West Asia December 16.

EMS Wins Network Upgrade Contract

EMS Technologies, Inc. announced today that its Defense & Space (D&S;) Division has been awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin to start development of an electronically-steered, switched-beam antenna for the F-22 Multi-function Advanced Data Link (MADL) system upgrade.

USAF release F-22 accident report

Air Force Materiel Command officials released an accident investigation report that determined that human factors associated with high gravitational forces caused the March 25 crash of an F-22 test aircraft 35 miles outside of Edwards AFB.
Holloman Air Force Base deployed six F-22A Raptors to their second Red Flag on July 18 for a two week exercise at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.

525 EFS Raptors train with Kadena F-15s

Two F-22 Raptors from the 525th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron returned to Anderson AFB on July 15 from Japan following training with F-15 Eagles at Kadena Air Base, Japan.
