SEATTLE - My ballot is in the mail.

And I figure, one way or another, how I voted on the various measures is going to come back and bite me in the butt.

Since I fully expect any one or all of the measures will prompt future comment from me, I guess it's only fair that I fess up and go public with my choices before that happens.

Referendum 67: Choosing sides between what's billed as a battle between insurance companies and lawyers, I went with the lawyers and an additional layer of consumer protection.

HJR 4204: Allow school levies to be passed with a simple majority. I said no because I still hold that it would let lawmakers off the hook to face up to the responsibility of full funding for schools.

Initiative 960: Tim Eyman's latest smoke and mirror measure. I wish I could have voted "no" on this several times. If it passes, look for a gridlocked Legislature doing battle over things like raising hairdresser license fees.

Proposition 1: I held my nose, closed my eyes and said yes. We've got to invest in mass transit. That said, the powers that be should forget trying to shove more and more toll proposals down our throats.

So, all that's left now is to wait and see.

And be sure to join Ken, along with John Carlson, on "The Commentators", which airs every weekday from 9-Noon on AM 570 KVI.

It's a lively exchange of information, insight and perspective with two guys who don't agree on much, but still manage to enjoy each other as they tackle issues of the day. Even better, callers are invited in on the verbal action.
