Each year it seems impossible for the videogame industry to top itself, and after an incredible 2008, this year seemed as good a point as any for things to slow down. However, this was not the case, as 2009 offered a staggering amount of incredible games and experiences that were not to be missed.

2009 saw Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's record breaking launch, the return of Nathan Drake in Uncharted 2, new, groundbreaking experiences and traditional classics for the whole family. 2009 was a huge year for any type of gamer, no matter how you slice it.

So it is without further ado that GameZone presents our 2009 Game of the Year Awards. We took a look at the best and the brightest that this year had to offer, wracked our brains together in a rigorous voting process, and now we present to you our results.
