Hawaiian culture on display

Over 600 people attended the annual Hawaiian lu’au.

Despite chilly wind and on-and-off-again mist, over 600 people attended the annual lu`au hosted by LMU’s Hawaii club, Na Kolea, in the amphitheatre this past Saturday. This is the first year that Na Kolea has hosted their lu`au outside. “I think this year’s lu`au was a very successful event, even though the numbers didn’t necessarily reflect that. Everything went very smoothly and the new location had a very welcoming and traditional atmosphere,” said Derek Hondo, a junior biology major and the co-chair of Na Kolea. Full story
